3: The things we do for love

"It's funny that they actually have a book like this" Cheer said, sitting back down on her seat after getting something on the bookshelf.

I didn't mind them and just focused on reading my textbook.

We were sitting inside our favorite cafe, having snacks and some drinks while they talk about something, it was quite interesting but I promised myself that I would study better.

But my curiosity kept on bugging me that's why I chose to listen in secret.

"What's that?" Kie asked in a curiouse tone

"It's a book that gives you 20 tips to win someone's heart" Cheer proudly answered.

I listened to them fuzzing about how the tips are too complicated and how it doesn't sound like it's going to work.

While they were having their little commotion, we overheard one of the popular girls talking to her friend about how she followed a book and how it was the reason why she and her crush are already together now.

We also heard her say "The book '9 love tips' is really effective!"

My friends, who were also listening to the conversation, stopped and glanced at me all at the same time.

"What?" I spoke

They smiled at me devilishly, as if they have a good and wise idea that they only thought about now.

They stood up all at the same time and hurried towards the book shelf, they went through all of the books there until they found a book that they wanted, they went to the counter and immediately made a purchase.

I was shocked when they crowded themselves around me, Nim started tidying my things up, while Cheer brought my bag up on her shoulder.

I was confused on what was going on,

"We're going home Yuna, come on" Kie said while grabbing my wrist

What's going on? I was so confused because ever since they bought that book, they've been forcing me to go home like I was a 3-year-old kid being pulled by my mom on our way home.

"We're staying in Yuna's place, right?" Nim said while unlocking her bikes padlock

The three of them agreed while, I, the owner of the house, wasn't able to say anything but nod because of the confusion that this has caused me.

We arrived home at around 5pm when the restaurant was already closed and my mom was already done cleaning up, it was already getting dark outside.

They all went inside and greeted my mom like they were HER daughters, while I was left outside, locking my bike.

I hurried and followed them inside, my mom let us stay in the restaurant since there were a lot of tables there where we could work.

I decided to clear things up and finally ask them what was going on.

"We could've just done this in the café, why do we need to come here?"

"Yuna, you heard how these girls use this book, right? We also wanted to use it but we can't be seen using it in public because I know that they would make fun of us since we're dorks and I know; no book could help us when it comes to love but there's no harm in trying right?"

Cheer explained, I felt bad for the four of us, especially for Cheer since she often gets bullied because of her weight but I salute her for handling it very well.

"Woah!" They all exclaimed when Cheer opened the book

They all scooted in and peeked their heads to see what was the contents of the book.
