"Haley!" A voice shouted. I looked around confused as cage bars began to form around me.
"Haley, over here!" The voice repeated.
This time I could make out the shape of Klaus drawing near.
"Klaus!" I yelled back through the strong winds.
"Follow the dream! You have to do what you normally would and I'll look for the portal!" He replied. I nodded and knew what I had to do.
The fear inside me was threatening to take over as I slowly approached the bars and my body grew.
A burning pain shot through me an I screamed in pain, collapsing to the floor. Klaus ran over to me, but as he approached the floor opened up and we were both spinning through the air.
The usual gas poured out of my mouth and I felt myself getting thinner, so thin that my skin clung desperately to my bones. Suddenly my frail body landed with a thump in the room of mirrors.
"Stop!" I heard Klaus yell, but I couldn't. I felt my body walk over to the mirror and gaze in shock at my appalling looks.
I saw Klaus hurriedly examine each mirror. Did he suspect one of them to be a portal?
The roof suddenly started getting lower and I panicked. I heard a yell to my right and saw Klaus pointing to a small object in the distance. I had never looked that way in my dream before, so I hadn't noticed the old wooden door that was starting to form.
Although every bone in my body was trying to keep me In the same spot and follow the pattern of my dream, I broke free and ran to the door.
"So this is it?" I breathed heavily.
"Yes, now go." Klaus said hurridly.
"Are you coming?" I asked.
"I can't, it's your task, not mine." He replied sadly.
"I can't leave you here, there's no way out!" I exclaimed.
"You have to!" He rushed. The roof was getting lower. Time was running out.
I grabbed his hand. "I'll come back tomorrow without you!"
"No Haley, you're so close to getting killed!" He whispered.
"I don't care." I said and pushed him. I was only meaning to knock some sense into him but he began to stumbled back. He lost his balance and his body tilted backwards. I screamed as I saw him for the last time.
Then he was gone, disappeared, into a sea of swirls that were behind the old door.
Without thinking I jumped in after him. Before I knew it I was in Rumridge, but it wasn't just a dream anymore.
