Chapter 1- strange encounter

DARIUS' POV
Being king is stressful and all but my least favourite part of the job is the stacks and stacks of paperwork that I have to do every day.

My father keeps nagging me about finding my mate but how am I supposed to when I barely even get time to let my wolf out. I long for a mate but I also don't want her to get caught up in my stressful life.

A knock on my door distracts me from my thoughts.

"Alpha" my beta Alexander walks through the door and bows his head in respect as he sits on the chair across from me while I stay seated at my desk.

"Border control picked up a strange scent today" My head perks up at the mention of a scent on my borders.

"Which one?" I ask my beta while putting my paperwork down on the desk.

"North and it's still fresh" that makes me think of rogues but the fact that he said a strange scent means maybe it isn't..

"What do you mean strange?" I ask him and he suddenly seems uncomfortable.
He scratches the back of his neck and says,"I checked it out myself but it doesn't smell like a rogue's one I'm guessing it's just a stray wolf from one of the nearby packs?" He doesn't seem so sure though which makes me worry as he has one of the best noses in the pack and usually has good judgement

"If whoever or whatever it comes back and steps foot on this territory bring them back to me" I growl, wondering who would dare step foot on my packs lands.
he nods and walks out of the room.

I really need a break..

Seraphs POV

My grandmother asked me to gather some herbs for us to practice a new potion together so here I am in the middle of the snow covered forest that I have grown up in.

I walk to a patch of uncovered grass and find most of the herbs. Just one more.. there it is.
I walk over to the herb and pick it but just as I did I heard paws hitting the ground and panting coming towards me. I panic and do a quick invisibility spell and mask my scent. I then climb up a tree to hide so the wolves couldn't see or smell me but I could observe from a safe distance.

When the wolves come out into the open I immediately realise that one of them is a beta. Damnitt I must've crossed into their territory

I'm such an idiot sometimes..

Of course I am. I'm after walking into a packs territory. I say back.

I look down from tree and see the wolves mind linking each other before leaving.

Two weeks later

Seraphs POV

I've been avoiding that part of the forest for the past two weeks just to be safe but I need to get some ingredients to heal my grandmother, she's really sick and I'm worried about her because she's been like this for over a week, especially because she barely gets sick and when she does she heals in a few days at most..

So here I am trying to sneak into this packs territory to find some healing herbs for her.

"This is such a bad idea" my wolf tried to reason with me.

"We cant just sit and do nothing while she suffers becausewe didn't get this stupid myrrh gum" I said back every time so she gave up.

I spent an hour looking and found everything except for the myrrh gum.

I can do this...
They wont be here..

*Snap*

"Are you kidding me?!" I tell up to the sky as I'm being tackled by an Auburn wolf.

*growl*

Did this bitch just growl at me?

*growl*

"Yup" my wolf answers angry at the fact that we are being "restrained"

"Fight back already!" She almost shouts on my head.

"I'm getting to that part". I grunt back as I hold the medium sized wolf's jaws back from ripping my face apart

"The wolf on top of us is just a pack warrior." I smirk, knowing that I could easily take her down.

I can't let them know what i am...
"You'll just have to help me, Selene"

"You know that I can't say no to a good fight"

I let my wolf take over and just sit back and watch the show.

First she elongates her claws and scrapes down the other wolf's side.

The wolf looks surprised and then starts to whine loudly jumping off of us so that we can get up.

"We need to get out of here..."

"I know so no toying with her"

"I wont..."

"..Much"

"SELENE"

"Okay, okay.."

The other wolf starts to charge at us but we dodge her quickly and catch her side again.

This time my wolf took complete control and dug a bit too deep.

The other wolf shifts back into human from the pain and lies on the ground.

"She's so beautiful "

"I know. Her mate is one lucky man"

We both laugh to each other and start to turn around but bump into a wall.

I swear there was no wall here earlier...

"Sugar"

"You're coming with me" a deep voice says.

I look up and see the same eyes as the beta wolf that I saw before...

Oh crap, THE BETA WOLF!

I have to get out of here!

In my panicked state I didn't realise the poke of a needle until it was too late and I was already falling into darkness.

Also please don't attack me for calling the female wolf a "bitch" but in my defense that's what a female dog is and I couldn't imagine Seraph saying or thinking anything else soooooo...
