"Yooo why is this video still here?" Yuna groaned while walking towards the MacBook to turn on the next video in Hueningkai's private vlog series, "I seem so bitchy-"
"You ARE bitchy," Chaeryeong rolled her eyes. The ten basketball rookies were in their practice court, watching the random videos Kai took with his GoPro from the projector he brought to practice that day.
"Bitch, YOU're one to talk-"
"Stop! Don't ruin the night before the game," Lia yelled.
"Bro, looking at the girls make us seem like quiet good boys huh," Soobin whispered to Taehyun.
"Eh," Taehyun shrugged with a smug grin on his face.
The 4th Generation athletes all sat on the bleachers, watching videos of their soon-to-be-gone training days like a theatre. The next day would be the first day of the SM Cup Olympics, the 20th one. SM, YG, JYP and BigHit Universities always had the best representative junior teams and graduate teams, in various sports like basketball, polo, netball, badminton and more. It just happened to be that BigHit and JYP's head master were best friends and when they both announced their new basketball teams Tomorrow By Together (or TXT for short) and ITZY (or ITZY just short) would be competing in the 20th SM Cup as their representative teams, how was it possible to train properly? Put them together where their Rookie Of The Year power could compare with each other's. A formidable pair of opponents. Although both teams were cold and competitive with each other when they first met, seeing each other as threats, they have warmed up to each other a bit more to be called friends. But they never suspected each other remaining wary. After all, competition is competition.
Except Yeji and Yeonjun towards each other. They were like cat and dog, playing basketball all the way past training hours, and that's the cause for Hueningkai's boredom-killer vlogs. The teams go home together so they can't leave each other out and end up waiting for Yeji and Yeonjun to finish their meticulous matches. So while the two were busy getting angry with each other and playing their limbs off until just before curfew, the other kids had fun and made it one hell of a noisy court containing ten players. It was like that. Yeji was the leader of her team so she had a feeling of responsibility to be the best player of her team. Yeonjun was the oldest (Soobin was the leader) and didn't want to lose face as THE badass player of BigHit who even challenges the 3rd Gen players' skills. The two have always been labelled as their universities' secret weapons.
So how does this sports world work? The games. The games have to be entertaining. Be it the graceful moves they put on in their matches, the speed and agility or even the court presence of the players that hype up the audience. And of course, how attractive the players are. This is ridiculous but it works. The points don't even matter much as long as the peeps on the bleachers loved the team. The fandoms were humongous and international. Surely the big 4 universities of sport in Asia have changed the entertainment industry. The way they win would come from the points they earn (Yeonjun and Yeji's way), the audience's live votes and pre-votes (Beomgyu was in charge of being the influencer of TXT's fandom and sometimes gets irritated that Ryujin does better), the judge's scores (Chaeryeong was master sweet-talker for her team so she gets close to judges before matches to increase their points out of fondness for her, that was until Soobin was chosen to become the MC for the event along with Arin from Oh My Girl because then the judges would go head over heels for his charms) and the group's visual scores (Kai's unique 'barbie's boyfriend' and foreign face attracts international fans easily, and Yuna's adequate beauty was just everything they needed, even for TC Candler to name her in their top 100 pretty list alongside Yeji and other huge players like from Blackpink, SNSD, Mamamoo and Twice. Apart from that, they have their full trust on their creative stylists who always pick the best outfits). What do Taehyun and Lia do? As the brainiacs of their teams they of course plan out the strategies.
