"mom what is happening?!" I yelled at my mom as my dad drove really fast.
"Something happened, a virus or something. The dead are coming back and eating people." Mom said.
I looked at my brother tony. He was 17 and I was 13.
"Ali your gonna be okay, we're gonna be okay." He said. I nodded as I tried to hold back tears.
We got to a highway. It was packed. There was not an inch that didn't have a car or someone there. "Fucking God!" Dad screamed.
"Don't cuss!" Mom yelled at him. "Stay in the fucking car!" He screamed at tony and I.
They got out and 15mins later they weren't back. Another 15mins went by and they still weren't back.
"We should look for them." Tony said. "Fine." We got out of the car and started walking.
Some guy that was my age walked up to us. "Are you too lost?" He asked. "Ugh yeah."
"Mom!" He screamed. Some lady came running she looked like him. "Carl, who are these people."
"Mom their lost!" Carl said to her. "Where are your parents?" She asked. "We don't know, they said they would be back 30minutes ago. We're worried and now we got lost." Tony said.
"Well I'm lori, and this is my son carl. Your welcome to stay with us till you find your parents." She smiled. "Thank you so much!" I said.

It's been five days since the highway. We didn't find our parents but we're with a group. Some of them went on a run and they still aren't back, which makes everyone nervous.
"Tony?" I asked my brother. "Yeah?"
"Do you think that we will ever see mom and dad again?"
"I hope not.." I know the reason why. Dad used to hit us and hit mom. We were scared most of the time. We never wanted dad to come home.
Sometimes I wish that I could have new parents. Better ones. It started to rain and everyone was really nervous.

It stopped raining and the people still aren't back. Finally we heard something like a car come up the hill. It was so loud.
Glenn got out of the car and everyone started yelling at him. He told us that they were coming back with some new guy.
Then a van pulled up and they all got out and hugged the ones they loved. But then some police dude came out and lori and carl started running to him and hugging him.
