I'm Sorry

As Katelyn, Harry, and Ron stopped at the entrance of the Great Hall with a lady clad in emerald green robes and a witch hat they took in their surroundings. Hogwarts was beautiful. "I am Professor McGonagall. In just a moment you will be sorted into your houses which could be Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or...Slytherin. You will join your housemates once you are sorted for now I'll be back" then she turned on her heel and walked into the room. 

A platinum blonde boy walked over to Harry and Katelyn. "So the rumor is true. Harry and Katelyn Potter are finally at Hogwarts" he smirked. Everyone broke out into whispers at their name. The boy stuck out his hand, "I'm Draco. Draco Malfoy." 

Ron snickered. "You think my names funny, do you? No need to ask yours! Red hair and hand-me-down robes, you must be a Weasley!" he sneered. Ron stopped snickering and his ears turned red. 

Katelyn and Harry glared at the boy slightly. He turned to them and put out his hand again, "you don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort" 

Katelyn narrowed her eyes, "we can tell the wrong sort for ourselves thanks" she sneered. He glared at her. A rolled piece of parchment landed on his shoulder and everyone looked up. The lady clad in green was back and staring at Malfoy. He gave one last sneer to Katelyn and Harry before walking over to the two goons. 

"They're ready for you," she said. They followed her and gazed in amazement at the ceiling that looked to be outside with candles floating around as little stars. They stopped in front of a stool and a hat that looked to be smirking. 

There was a table behind the two objects where teachers sat. It was almost the width of the room and the Professor's filled it up. An old man that was sitting in the biggest chair in the middle of the table caught Harry and Katelyn's gaze. He winked at them. 

The lady unrolled the parchment, "Zoo Zoo Bonds" she called. A girl with curly red hair pushed through the crowd with a nervous look on her face. She sat down after Professor McGonagall took the hat off the stool. 

She set it on Zoo Zoo Bonds's head. "HUFFLEPUFF!" the hat bellowed as the mouth opened. The new students jumped. A table with people wearing yellow and brown ties and robes cheered as the girl sat down at the edge of the table. 

"Draco Malfoy!" was the next. The platinum blonde boy walked up with a nervous look on his face as well. He sat down on the stool. 

Professor McGonagall barely set it on his head when the hat bellowed, "SLYTHERIN!" 

The table with kids wearing green and silver ties erupted with cheers as he sat down. The Professor called a couple more kids before she got to one that spiked Katelyn's interest, "Hermione Granger!" 

The bushy-haired girl from before walked up and sat down. The hat was placed on her head. "GRYFFINDOR!" it shouted. The table that was wearing red and gold ties erupted into cheers. Hermione smiled widely and skipped over.

"Ronald Weasley" was the next. He pushed between Katelyn and Harry gently as he gulped and walked up. He sat down.

"Another Weasley! I know where to put you...GRYFFINDOR!" the red and gold table erupted into cheers once again. 

"Harry Potter!" the hall went quiet when McGonagall called her brother's name. Katelyn gave his hand a squeeze before he walked up. He sat down anxiously. 

McGonagall sat the hat on his head. He was muttering something. "Not Slytherin ay?" said the hat startling Harry, "but you'd do so well!" He kept muttering the same thing. "GRYFFINDOR!" the hat yelled. The Gryffindor, once again, erupted into cheers. 

"Katelyn Potter!" she said cutting off the cheers. Katelyn walked up and sat down. The hat sat on her head. 

"Hmm" hummed a voice in her ear, "different. You have great confidence and bravery. Loyal and trustworthy...intelligent...very ambitious yes. A nice thirst to prove yourself and a great sense of determination! I'd say...SLYTHERIN!" 

The Slytherin table erupted into cheers. McGonagall took off the hat and leaned towards her slightly, "you'll be great dear" then let Katelyn walk towards the table. She looked back at the lady who winked at her. She sat down next to the platinum blonde who gave her a sneer. 

As the night went on Katelyn was more amazed when the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, the man who winked at her before clapped his hands and food appeared in front of them. She ate the delicious food while getting to know some of her housemates. 

When dinner was over Katelyn followed the Slytherin Prefect to the dungeon where the Slytherin common room and dormitories were. Katelyn found her room with two girls named Pansy Parkinson and Daphne Greengrass. 

Before Katelyn could go anywhere she felt someone grab her wrist. She whipped around to see the platinum blonde. Katelyn ripped her hand out of his grasp and glared. He looked down at the ground, "I'm sorry...those two boys...I wanted to make a good impression for my father" he sighed. 

Katelyn tilted his chin up, "screw Lucius, Drac. You are who you are. You don't have to change because of your father. Harry and I like who you are" 

He grinned, "you're right! I'll see you tomorrow for classes?" he asked. She nodded. "Good! See you in the morning" then he rushed up the boy's stairs. Katelyn shook her head and walked up the girl's stairs towards her dormitory. 

Draco Malfoy is part of the black family. His mother Narcissa Black is Sirius Black's cousin. Sirius Black is Harry's godfather and her father's best friend. Katelyn and Harry met Draco when they went to the House of Black and saw Narcissa there with two platinum blondes, Draco and his younger sister Freya. 

The four had become fast friends and in a sense, cousins.
