durning the time of pennywise terrorising derry, eddie and richie were dating.
as for pennywise, he knew one of richie's greatest fears, eddie not being able to remember him.
before pennywise left the children along after the losers club attacked him, he made sure that eddie forgot about richie and richie only.
when richie finds out that eddie forgot about him he was determined to make eddie remember him or, make new memories with him.
