An Update from the Author

Dear readers,

The final editing has been completed on Alone! I recommend reading from the beginning again, as some major changes have been made to the story and characters.

To explain some of the changes, allow me to reveal something about myself.

I started to write Alone as a sophomore in highschool back in 2015. The writing spanned three failed long term relationships, with the characters surrounding Silent being personifications of them. Biuziceca and Viktor are two of them, the third was written into the unpublished chapter 35.

While I was writing this, I was exploring a very scary part of my own mind- I have since been diagnosed with several mental illnesses, of which I will not get into but some of the chapters I wrote surrounding my fear and unease around this new aspect of my life. Those chapters have been rewritten, as they were a very unhealthy way of viewing how mental health can be handled.

As to the major character switches, mainly the introduction of Kim as a major role, comes from the much more recent legal proceedings against the character that recently held that place, Sjin. I was writing when the proceedings began and I decided to walk away from the arch I was going to write instead of editing the story to omit him, which I have now done. There are only two mentions of his name, both very early in the story, which I was torn about leaving in at all.

While on the subject, more has come out even since I began editing about assault in the upper ring of the Yogscast. I would like to remind you all that this story was first written while the Yogscast was still in 'The Golden Age'. Many people had yet to leave the Yogscast, including Bebop and Ridgedog, and while I made changes to account for the charges against certain parties I will not be making any edits to omit people who are no longer a part of the group.

Five years ago I began writing what I considered at the time my magnum opus, and now I am returning to finish it for those who still wish to read it. I'm not sure how many people actively consume Golden Age content anymore, if even general content, but I remember always searching and searching to see if my favourite stories were updated only to be let down. I refuse to let myself do that to someone, even if it has been nearly 2 years since the true last update came.

Oh, speaking of that, I posted a new chapter along with the edited chapters today. Please enjoy at your own pace, I will be updating this story until I finish it.
