Vacation (discontinued)

Chapter 1

"She can't know," I overhear my mom whisper in my parents' room.

"But this is going to affect her," my dad says starting to get mad.

"She's going on vacation," my mom says straining the vacation part. I hold back a gasp and tiptoe back to my room.

'Vacation' I think. By myself. Where? I don't know and honestly, I don't care. I've been in Penar for all my life. My parents have left to go on business trips, but they always leave me with my aunt. Don't get me wrong I love my aunt Tati but she's so overbearing. I can't go anywhere when I'm with her and normally that's for months at a time. I don't even have a real phone. My parents gave me a flip phone on my 15th birthday as my first phone.

"Mia!" My dad yells. "Come here."

I rush over to their room and try to act normal like I don't know anything. I knock on the door and open it. They pat a spot on their bed motioning for me to sit. I do so.

"So mea infantem puella," which is Latin for my baby girl, "you are going on vacation for a while. We would send you to Aunt Tati, but she had to do something out of town. We are going to send you halfway to your vacation spot with Sammy." I gasp and start clapping hearing that I'll see Sammy again

Sammy's my childhood best friend. She is a few years older than me, like by 6 years. She had moved away when I was like 13. It'll be nice to see her again.

"Where am I going," I ask.

"It's a surprise," my mom says with a smile.

"When am I leaving," I question getting excited.

"Tomorrow, so you better go pack" my dad says shooing me away. I nod and jog to my room. I pack almost all my clothes, which really isn't a lot plus I have no clue where in going. When I'm done, I choose my favorite outfit and get ready for bed.
