18. Quirk Study

The next day was a bit weird, Asylum wasn't seen at all until the afternoon. When everyone did see her she was happy but she looked really tired like she hadn't slept in the past twelve hours. Toga, Twice, and Tomura were in the kitchen when they see Asylum sitting at the table with a file in her hand and a milkshake next to her.

"Asylum!" Toga said as she approached Asylum

Asylum looked up at Toga and smiled brightly, "Hi Toga, Hi Twice and Shiggy."

Tomura immediately saw the bags under her eyes, "Are you ok? You look tired."

"Yeah, I didn't get any sleep last night. Been having some nightmares lately," Asylum admitted

"Nightmares? What kind of nightmares?"

"I don't know, I can't remember them." 

"That's weird."

"Yeah but I'm used to it by now. I'll be fine," Asylum said with a smile

Suddenly, Hitoshi and Denki entered the kitchen. Denki was out of breath and panicking.

"Asylum! Thank goodness we found you," Denki said

"What is it?" Asylum asked calmly

"She's dead, she's fucking dead!" Denki screamed

Hitoshi shook his head, "He found your mother dead in her cell. I didn't get to see the body so I don't know how she died."

"There's no need to look or find out how. I killed her."

Everyone looked in the room looked at Asylum shocked, "You killed your mother?" Hitoshi asked

"Yeah." Asylum continued to read the file she had

"Why would you do that!?" Denki asked, "She was your mother, she gave birth to you, took care of you, loved you-" Denki stopped and covered his mouth

Asylum looked up from her file, she didn't look very happy. Her eyes were glowing brightly and stared down at Denki from across the room. Asylum put the file down on the table, got up, and walked toward Denki with a sinister smile on her face that made Denki's blood run cold.

"I bet you have a wonderful, loving mother at home, don't you Denki?"

"Y-Yes," Denki squeaked

"I bet she cooks all your favorite meals when your sad, kisses all the booboos away, and loved you unconditionally, doesn't she Denki?"

Denki swallowed, "Y-Yes,"

"Would be ashamed if she found out her precious son was a bad, bad boy." Asylum tilts her head, "Or worse, she suddenly died without any explanation."

"Y-You wouldn't-"

"Wouldn't I?" she interrupted, "I could make her death look like an accident or natural causes, with my quirk I could do just that."

"P-Please don't," Denki looked like he was going to cry

"Then don't tell me what a mother is supposed to do with her child, you can tell how the way I turned out that my Mother...wasn't exactly kind to me growing up," Asylum told him, "You may have been blessed with a mother but mine isn't a mother, she's a nuisance, nothing but a nuisance and I got rid of her for good." She leaned towards Denki and whispered in his ear, "You have some nerve telling me something like this when I still haven't forgiven you for my panic attack the other day that you caused. I should kill you right here, right now but I'm feeling generous so I'll let you live. However, pull any more stunts like that and your final moments will be me laughing at you as your agonizing death creeps in. Do we understand each other~?"
