Chapter 14

The music pounded through my body as me and the boys stepped into my best friend Ali's house. Jc threw an arm around me "You want a drink?" I said into his ear.

He smiled and nodded at me "Lead the way" I grabbed his hand as we zig zaged through all the people. Most of the boys had disappeared aside from Sam and Ricardo.

We walked into the kitchen, which was a lot less crowded and quieter than I thought it'd be. "Well hey there stranger" I turned around to see Ali leaning up against the counter.

"Hey girl" I let go of Jc's hand and walked over to give her a hug. "So why didn't you tell me you were having a party, I had to find out from Jarrad"

"Sorry it was a spur of the moment kind of thing, I was gonna text you but I didn't know if you'd be too busy with your man" she nudged me in the ribs and gave me a little wink. "And by the way, he's like really cute"

I blushed and looked over at him, he was talking with Ricardo, Jarrad and Sam. "I know"

"And his friend is like really really cute. What's his name again....Ricardo?"

"Yeah" I laughed and grabbed a redbull out of the fridge and mixing it with some vodka "You want me to introduce you?" I began to walk over to the counter with the two drinks in my hand.

"Umm yeah!" she trailed behind me

"Here babe" I handed Jc one of the drinks

"Thanks" he gave me a kiss and grabbed it.

"Oh Ricardo, this is my friend Ali."

He pushed himself off the counter and shook her hand "Hi there cutie" He smiled. "Would you like to dance"

Ali blushed and nodded, soon they disappeared into the crowd.

After about 2 or so hours I found myself sitting on the floor in a circle with some friends and all the boys aside from Sam and Ricardo.

"Ok" Kian said from across the circle holding a bottle of vodka up to his lips, he took a sip "You all know how to play Truth or Dare, so I won't explain" he set the bottle in the middle of the circle.

"Wait, us too" Sam, Corey and Jarrad appeared squeezing themselves between me and Jc. I smiled at Corey giving him a hug - it seems like ages since I had seen him. Sam grabbed the bottle out of the middle and took a drink "Let's do this"

"Connor you first" I heard my friend Tiffany say from across the circle. It went back and forth like this for a while - Connor had run outside naked, Jc had jumped into the pool fully clothed, Jarred licked the bottom of Sam's foot and Ricky dacked a couple randoms.

"Ok Kian" Sam slurred as he took another drink "Truth or Dare"

"Umm Dare" Kian shrugged grabbing the bottle from Sam and putting it to his lips.

"I dare you to tell us a secret" Sam got into Kian's face "A good one" he smiled and backed away.

Kian gave him a weird look "Ummm" he looked around like he was trying to think of a lie "Like junior year I made out with Ella Stormberg behind the bleachers during a pep rally" he shrugged. Ella Stormberg was kind of a slut so it didn't surprise any of us, you know aside from the fact that it was Kian - he had told me when it happened but we decided it'd be good not to say anything to anyone...EVER.

"No, no, no" Sam slid himself across the circle to Kian, he poked him in the chest "The one you told me the other night...about Kaitlyn and Jc"

Me and Jc both looked up and over to Sam "Wait what? What did you say Kian?" I also scooted over to him.

Kian's eyes got big and he looked down "I umm, I said that, umm you deserve better than Jc"

"What do you mean I deserve better than Jc. I think Jc's the best boyfriend I've ever had...like ever" Everyone in the circle was quiet, a few of the people I didn't know too well had excused themselves feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Kian, are you saying what I think that you're saying"

"Well maybe, I don't know"

Sam butted in, his vodka filled breath in my face "He is!" he grabbed my cheeks and sat in my lap "Kian loves you, he always had. He told me." Sam leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear "Ever since freshman year"

I looked at Jc who was awkwardly sitting there playing with his thumbs. And then I looked at Kian who was just frozen staring at me and Sam. "Kian," I cleared my throat "We've been friends since we were 5, and have never been apart - why didn't you ever tell me, I thought we didn't keep secrets" I moved out from under Sam and slid towards him, lightly setting my hand on his arm. "I love you, but as a brother. I can't imagine kissing you or Sam - it'd be weird." I gave him a kiss on the cheek and backed away a bit.

"I understand" he smiled at me "That's why I didn't say anything. But this asshole" he hit Sam in the back of the head "ruins everything when he's drunk"

Sam rubbed the back of his head "Whatever" he rolled his eyes and got up, staggering to the living room.

I could tell that everyone around us was really uncomfortable and I just kind of looked and Kian and giggled, he still had a weird look on his face but gave a laugh too.

Connor cleared his throat "Well, it's like who knows what time, why don't we find Ricardo and head back to Kian's"

Ricky laughed "Umm I saw Ricardo not too long ago - we'd be better off leaving without him. I promise" Ricky gave us a look.

"He'll be fine here. I'm supposed to go shopping with Ali tomorrow anyway, I'll just send him back then" I pulled myself up off the floor and helped Kian up. I walked over to Jc who was still awkwardly staring at the floor, not really paying attention to anything. "Babe?" I squatted down in front of him "Are you ok?" I grabbed his chin and looked at him.

"Umm yeah" he said and smiled "Just a bit tired"

I stood up and stuck my hands out to help him up "Ok, well let's go back to Kiki's and get to sleep" I grabbed his hand and followed the rest of the boys out of Ali's house. We stood on the lawn for a couple of minutes while Jarrad went to look for Sam "Jc, are you sure you're ok? You've been acting weird since Sam said something." I looked at him as he played on his phone. "Justin!" I grabbed his phone out of his hand and led him away from the group "What is wrong with you?"

"Kian's right you know" he looked down at his shoes

"What do you mean he's right?"

"Well, you do deserve better than me. I mean at least if you were with Kian, you could literally be with Kian and not halfway across the country." He looked at me with sad eyes

"Jc, don't you think that if I had wanted to be with Kian, I would have already been with Kian. I love you Jc, I have for a while ok and the distance has never bugged me before."

He looked up and smiled at me "You love me?"

I blushed and looked down "I think so"

He grabbed my chin and kissed me "I love you too"

"Come on guys! Let's go I'm tired" I heard Connor yell

"Coming!" I said back, I smiled at Jc and grabbed his hand running down the street over to the guys.

Ricky had a passed out Sam on his back and Kian was playing rock, paper, scissors with Jarrad and Corey "Ok, loser has to sleep on the couch with Sam" Corey's australian accent sang.

"Damn it!" Kian yelled after losing for the third time.

"Ok let's go" Ricky said as he adjusted Sam on his back and started to walk down the street. Good thing Kian only lives a block down.
