I woke up by the smell of food. My eyes slowly open up taking the sunlight in that was shining through the windows. I looked over to the kitchen and saw a plate of food on my table. Confused, I stretched and slowly got up from my couch where I ended up falling asleep last night.

Last night was something I have never experienced. My mind was really jacked up. Hopefully today will be the start of a new day and I can move on. Get the answers I need. She would want me to anyways.

When I reached the table I saw a note next to the food. It read,

I thought leaving this out for you would be much better then having the boys come and wake you up out of nowhere. No one can resist the aroma of my food. See you soon.

- Frypan

I smile at the note and put it aside before I started to eat. Eggs, some sort of meat, and bread were still warm enough for me to enjoy. Frypan was right, no one could resist his meals, no matter how simple they were. After I finished my meal I decided to go wash up for the day.

The weather was cool this morning which was nice to experience. I grabbed my cane and walked out the door. As I was walking I wondered how long it would be until I could use my legs like normal again. Would I ever? What if whatever happened to me, has caused me to end up with a limp, permanently? I am grateful to be alive but to depend on this cane forever wouldn't be my first choice. I pushed the negative thoughts aside and tried to look for a familiar face as I walked to the beach.

As I did I was greeted by many people especially children who were always in awe to see me out and about. I don't blame them, I would be pretty in shock too if I was their age. Imagine spending a huge chunk of your life knowing someone was asleep and then see them suddenly out and about.

Any time I would catch them staring I would wave and their eyes would light up. In return I found myself smiling.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a little girl walked up to me and stood in front of my path. She could be more than 6 years old. I stopped and looked down at her. She stared right at me with these big brown doe like eyes, looking at my legs then the cane. She did this a few times before speaking. "What wrong with your legs?"

"That a good question." I tell her. "I'm not really sure I think they're having a hard time waking up all the way."

She cautiously reaches out her small hand and touches my right leg with one finger. She hums as if she understands fully what I meant."I think they should run so they can wake up faster. You walk too slow with the stick."

"Sabrina!" A voice called out.

The little girl and I both turn our heads to the voice to find Brenda appearing from slightly dense forest.

"There you are! You can't just run off like that." She said picking her up. Her gaze meets mine not noticing I was the one who was talking to the little girl. "Hey Thomas, seems like you've met the local trouble maker. If she's not running around with Minho she's exploring the hub with Roman."

Brenda gives the girl a scowling look. Sabrina doesn't make eye contact knowing that her actions weren't encouraged.

"Looks like trouble runs in the family." I said with a chuckle, ruffling at the girl's curly hair.

"As cute as she is, she's actually not mine." Brenda told me as she fixed the hair I just messed up. "She's one of my kids, that I teach. I'm not the same girl you met in the Scorch you know." She said giving me a playful look.

"Miss Sabrina here just has a desire for adventure and can never seem to satisfy it." Brenda started tickling the girl getting her to laugh and smile.
