Miyeon, a Korean-American who just immigrated, was walking down the seoul streets with her parents. Soon enough, they arrived at a park. While her parents were buying street food, she wondered off.
Unknowingly, she found herself at the tree of life. The tree of life brought people prosperity, happiness, and love. Their wishes only worked if they saw the tree of life at the same time the first snow would occur every year.
Miyeon walked closer and saw a boy around her age. He looked like he had a warm personality, so she approached him with a bow. "Hi! I'm Miyeon! You can also call me Elle!"
The boy looked at her, coldly. It sent chills down her spine until he spoke. "I'm Youngjae. You can call me Eric." Miyeon slowly nodded and looked into the sky with him. She looked at the frozen river and felt something cold on the tip of her nose.
It was snowing. It was the first snow.
"It's the first snow!" Miyeon exclaimed excitedly.
"They say whoever you see the first snow with is the love of your life." Eric stated.
"Does that mean we're soulmates?" Miyeon asked and looked into his eyes.
"Maybe," Eric answered.
"When the snow falls, meet me under the tree of life." With that, he walked off.
"Wah.. so cool.." Miyeon whispered to herself. Her parents finally found her and embraced her, worried they had lost her. She didn't focus on them, all she was thinking about was that boy, Sohn Youngjae.
