A Run-In With Devil's Snare

"This is officially crazy," Ron said as they snuck through the halls of the school past curfew. 

Katelyn, Hermione, Harry, Fred, and George rolled their eyes. "Quiet Ron, we can't get caught" Fred whispered. Ron muttered something as Katelyn checked around the corner. She gave a thumbs-up when she didn't see anything. 

They tip-toed through the empty corridors trying to stay out of sight of the portraits many eyes. They could easily tell Dumbledore or Professor McGonagall and they'd be screwed. They were all wearing muggle clothing since it was a no-class day. 

Fred, Ron, and George were wearing their jumpers that their mum gave them for Christmas. Harry and Katelyn were wearing the Quidditch Team jumpers while Hermione was in a red jumper from her parents. 

The Bandits slowly walked up the stairs that led to the forbidden corridor where they found Fluffy, the three-headed dog before. It was eerily silent throughout the castle and a chill ran down Katelyn's spine as a gust of wind from the opposite end of the corridor rushed past them.

George gently pushed the door open and the torches lit up in a bright orange flame giving off some heat. "Does it always do that?" he asked. 

"When Katelyn opened it last time it did" Hermione replied. He nodded. 

The seven set off down the corridor. Hermione unlocked the door with the spell she used last time and Harry opened it. They all walked in, ready to fight a big dog when they heard soft classical music playing. 

In front of them was the passed out three-headed dog, snoring softly. "Snape's already gotten to him!" Harry said. 

Fred and George moved the humungeous paw off the trap door. They all jumped down. "AHHHH!" they screamed as they slid down dirt and onto a large black plant. It was cold. 

"Blimey, that was fun!" Fred said. 

"But let's not do it again" George sighed. Fred nodded in agreement. Katelyn was about to say something when the large black plant wrapped around her wrists and ankles. 

"Merlin" she said as the plant started to wrap around her body. Everyone looked over. 

Harry started to get wrapped up in it too along with Hermione. "Devil's snare!" Hermione shouted, "don't struggle it will only kill you faster!" 

That's when Ron started to freak out. Fred and George were struggling against it slightly but not wildly like Ron. He was thrashing around. Katelyn got pulled under. "KATELYN!" they all yelled. 

She landed on dirt with a 'oof.' She looked around and saw a corridor with stone walls and a dirt floor, "it's all right! I'm ok! Don't struggle!" she called. 

Harry and Hermione fell through a second later. Katelyn stood up and dusted herself off, looking around. They could hear Ron still thrashing and shouting out curses as Fred and George fell through. 

"RONALD! STOP FREAKING OUT!" George shouted. 

Hermione and Katelyn pointed their wands up at the Devil's Snare. "Lumos Solem!" they cried together. A bright light came from their wands and the Devil's Snare recoiled from it. Ron fell through. 

He stood up and brushed himself off as the two put their wands away. "Glad we didn't panic," he said. 

They all stared at him. 

"You're an idiot, Ronald" Hermione stated.
