Yeji
"I can't believe we have to share custody of you with Jungkook," Taeyeon sighs as we all sit down in the cafeteria.
"Share custody? You are so dramatic. I just eat with him every other day," I giggle.
"But we missed you during lunch yesterday," Minjoo pouts.
"You survived 17 years without me. I think you can manage every other lunch period," I laugh.
"Make it up to us by coming out tonight," Taeyeon suggests.
"You guys know that I can't meet up outside of school," I sigh. I feel bad for not being a better friend.
"Come onnn. Seongwu's group is busking in Hongdae. I wanna go surprise him but I don't want to go alone," she whines.
"Seongwu?" I ask, confused.
"The dancer boy that I met in the studio. He asked me out over the weekend so we are dating now," she explains with a shy smile.
"Ahh... Well I guess I could come. But I will have to bring my little brother," I compromise. Haein likes watching people busk and I haven't taken him in a while.
"Yeah that's fine! He's so cute!" Haewon cheers. She has been spending a decent amount of time playing with him during tutoring after school since Taehyung is usually too busy actually studying to pay attention to her.
"I'll bring some clothes for you to change into so you aren't wearing your uniform in public," Minjoo offers.
"I really don't mind," I try to say, but she quickly dismisses me.
"I don't know if we will ever get you to come out with us again. This is our only chance to take pictures together and I'm not letting you go in a uniform," she argues.
She seems very adamant about it, so I just nod in agreement.
"Since Haewon and Yeji are going to be at school, should we just meet here and go when they finish tutoring?" Taeyeon asks.
"Yeah sounds good," Minjoo agrees. I make a mental note to tell Mr. Park that I can't help with grading today.
They keep discussing plans about where we should get food before we go and how Taeyeon should do her makeup and other things like that, but my phone buzzes in my pocket, so I stop listening to them and take it out.
I was expecting something from Jungkook, but it's an unknown number. Curious, I open the message.
XXX-XXX-XXXX: Sorry I forgot to send this last night. *recipe*.
Ah, it's Mr. Park. I feel a small smile tug on my lips.
Yeji: Thank you!
As I'm adding his number to my contacts, my phone buzzes again, surprising me. I didn't think he would say anything else.
Mr. Park: No problem! Feel free to text or call me if you have trouble following the recipe!
The idea of cooking with Mr. Park's voice in my ear talking me through it sends a shiver down my spine.
Then I realize what I'm thinking about and cringe. What is wrong with me? He's my teacher...
But still, I don't want the conversation to end just yet.
Yeji: Oh, I've been meaning to ask, how and when should I return your crutches?
I was going to bring them to school but then I realized that it might be weird if other people found out that he lent them to me.
