"BLOODY-"

"-HELL" shouted Ron as they looked at the life-sized Wizards Chessboard.

It looked deadly, really deadly. There were two places missing. They stepped closer. Katelyn ran her finger along one of the swords to find it really sharp for a statue. Katelyn and Ron were the best at Wizards Chess but Ron was always a bit better.

"Ron, you know this game best," Katelyn said, "you take a position and chose two to accompany you"

He nodded and looked at Harry and Hermione. The two nodded. Katelyn stuck with Fred and George as she watched three of her best friends walk onto the board. All of them jumped when the pawns connected their swords, blocking them from leaving.

"Harry you go to the Pawn on A3, Hermione take the Rook on F8...I'll take the Knight," Ron said. They slowly got into their spots.

"What happens now?" Hermione asked once they were in position.

"White moves first then...Ron makes his move" Katelyn replied.

The white bishop the fourth from the last on the left moved up two places. "Ron, Katelyn" Fred started hesitantly, "you don't think this is like real...Wizards Chess do you?"

Katelyn and Ron looked at each other before Ron called out as he pointed to a Pawn on the right, "hey you, D5"

The Pawn moved up to places so it was across from the white Pawn. The Pawn took out its swords and stabbed the black Pawn making it explode and the debris go everywhere.

Katelyn and Ron gulped. "Yes, Fred. This is exactly like Wizards Chess" the two replied.

As the game went on many pieces of debris flew everywhere. Hermione and Harry had to duck a couple of times so they weren't hit. It was exactly like Wizards Chess just like Ron and Katelyn said.

Fred, George, and Katelyn winced multiple times when one of their friends almost got knocked out by a rogue piece of Pawn or another piece of the black or white side.

"E4 Tower!" Ron called, "Pawn C3!" The game went on and on. They all watched as the pieces moved across the board in a trance.

They all watched as the white Queen raised her sword and stabbed the other black Bishop. Hermione blocked her face just in case the debris flew at her. Then she whacked the other black Tower and made it topple over while putting a massive dent in it. Harry dodged it but never left his square.

Katelyn's eyes narrowed, "wait a minute!"

Ron gulped, "you get it right, Katelyn? Once I move, the queen will attack me...Harry can attack the king"

"No, Ron! No!" Katelyn shouted at him.

"What? What is it?" Harry asked.

"He's going to sacrifice himself!" Katelyn replied.

"No, you can't! There must be another way!" Hermione pleaded.

Ron turned around and looked at her, "do you want to stop Snape from stealing the stone or not?" Hermione didn't say anything so he looked at Katelyn and Harry, "you two are the ones who have to go on! I must not go I, nor Hermione, or Fred, or George, you two!"

The two nodded. Ron inhaled deeply before speaking, "H3 Horse." He closed his eyes for a second then the Knight started to move. It went up three spaces and to the left once. "Check"

"Check" Katelyn muttered as he said it louder.

Harry, Hermione, Katelyn, Fred, and George started to breathe heavily as they watched the Queen turn towards Ron who was gripping the horse's reins so hard that his knuckles were turning white.

The Queen moved ever so slowly towards Ron and stopped right next to him. She unhitched her sword and struck the horse causing it to explode. Ron flew off with a yell. "RON!" everyone yelled as they saw his unconscious body with debris everywhere.

Hermione was about to move when Katelyn looked at her, "STOP!" she shouted. Hermione froze and looked over at Katelyn, "you're still playing!" Hermione nodded and went took a slight step back.

Harry moved in a diagonal across the black tiles and stopped right in front of the king. "Checkmate," he said. The Queen's sword fell out of her hand and clattered to the ground.

They all rushed over to Ron. Katelyn and Hermione made sure he was still breathing which he was, thankfully. Hermione cradled the red-haired boy's head in her lap and ran her fingers through his hair as she looked at the two Potters.

"Go," she said.

Katelyn ruffled Ron's hair slightly before grabbing Harry's outstretched hand and the two running over to the door.

They threw it open and ran down the steps, hearing it slam closed behind them.

"Bloody hell, Ron knows best" Katelyn muttered.
