Growing up I have always had to be extra resourceful since the day I was born. My parents were well let's just say they had unique outlooks on life. Meaning I was left alone with just the books I had at school or the library to fill my time. That didn't help my social life much or family life. My parents and brother were overwhelmed with jealousy because of how smart I am and school students just used it as an excuse to bully me. So what I did was learn and study more and made lists of what topics I would learn when and how to earn or jump ahead in school. One day I was in my room studying for my finals and my parents came in with two empty suitcases and said pack your bags and get out. I honestly was confused but not surprised since they have hated me my whole life. Luckily I was prepared for this day. Secretly, I had been organizing my days in such a way that I had been working since I was a sophomore in high school. I also tutored students in my free time on weekends. Any time I was not doing those things I was studying my college courses I got to take hun that were free through my high school. I had enough money to pay for a used suv and I had already bought one which my parents laughed at not knowing I barely used a dime of my money and had lots to spare for emergencies. I knew that in my mind I could live out of the van and go to school and work still. It was hot the best situation but I decided to make due. I packed my bags secretly hoping it was a joke and walked to the door not looking back hoping they would say, "Ha ha come back it was a joke." But no such phrase was said and I left to my car. I drove off the store first for supplies. I knew I would need many side hustles if I was going to succeed and be prepared. I still had 4 months til I was 18 and I didn't want to go to social services so I knew I had to last till then. Lucky I had my brains I made a plan. When I turn 18 I would join the military so I could pay for college and get a degree in criminal justice. But, while I wait to become 18 I would work as many hours as possible at my job. Then I would also bump up the hours I tutor and also start babysitting. Yes it would be hard but I know I can do it. I already would have my aa degree at graduation thanks to studying ahead. My family thought they would destroy me but they made me ten times more determined.
