I went back on my promise on going outside and decided to take a stroll.

The sky is a lovely sunset and the soldiers are just getting ready to finish their training for the day and it's strangely peaceful.

I went around the rim of the garden so no-one sees me because I tend to put people in a bad mood once they see my hair and if I'm being honest I just want to clear my head.

I kept wandering until I found a big rock and sat down on it. There is a cold breeze if I didn't know any better I'd say that this feels like a cliche scene from a novel.

All of a sudden there was an abrupt change in weather as it went from breezy to flamming hot I looked up to see a bright ember glowing Phoenix flying in circles above my head. I stood up in awe the phoenix was so radiant I couldn't look at it directly.

It suddenly started darting itself at me and stopped flying in front of my face luckily it stopped glowing and the flames on its feathers faded away.

I put my arm out and watched as the phoenix landed on it.

"You're a beautiful, bird!" I say astonished with a smile "May I touch you? " the bird doesn't say anything or move so I guess it's giving me approval. I reach my free arm out and hesitate before touching its feathers.

For feathers that were set on fire not too long ago, they are surprisedly warm and soft it feels as if I'm touching freshly ironed silk.

"Do you have a name?" I asked, but before the bird could do anything to respond I hear my name being called "oh its Lana." I muttered I look back at the bird and ruffled its forehead" I have to leave now." And with that, I lift my arm up and watched the Phoenix glide away.

I can still hear Lana yell my name in the distance "I better get back."

I catch up with Lana in the garden "Lana!" I yell as I run up to her. Lana looked me up and down before asking "why is your dress all scruffy?"

I don't know how to explain to her that I saw a phoenix in the garden I don't know if I was daydreaming or all those piano lessons are starting to get to me because I'm pretty sure phoenixes aren't supposed to exist "I don't know I sigh"

What am I going to to do with you?" She sighs Lana grabs my arm and practically dragged me to my room.

"A guest is coming over to the palace tomorrow," Lana says quietly while brushing my hair "oh who?" I ask "The duke of Kahlo" Lana say "the who?" I repeat. Lana does a very audible and obvious sigh "How does your tutor come over every day to teach you yet you still don't know who the duke of Kahlo is!"

Now that I think about it my tutor was explaining it to me before but I was too hungry to even listen, so I blame my stomach.

"Anyways" Lana begins "He needs someone to host the hunting tournament he is having in his estate in two weeks and that someone needs to be from the royal family."

"Oh," I say

"Oh exactly!" She repeats "if he wants someone to host it then he should host it himself!" Lana hisses

Lana is angry for some reason and I know that because now I feel like she is trying to rip my hair out of my scalp with the hairbrush.

"Listen, Lana, how about we have some herbal tea before we go to bed," I say as I take the brush out of her hand

I swear this brush is a deadly weapon.

Lana instantly agrees and her mood turns a lot cheerfuller. I tell a maid to go bring us some tea and we laughed and spoke until we both grew drowsy and Lana called ut a night and went to her chambers.
