I live in a world of inequality... a world where those without power or something supernatural are on top whilst segregating against those who are different in many ways. The Beams with their torches that shines on those with power just to exile them behind a wall always try to keep us at bay. Meanwhile us apollos just stay behind the wall to keep our peace and yet our wall that keeps us safe still crumble every day... from those who try to escape the shackles we're forced to keep.

The walls we see surround each Apollo city, just so the Beams can't raid and start a war. Yet our leaders want to fight for freedom, none of us are really willing to fight. I always see the Beams drive by in their cars through my window. Just seeing what could of been if we were free.

Though how we all feel imprisoned with in the tall walls that surround us, a Utopian world was created for us as we watch the Dystopian world out side just because of the Beam's pride.

My mother and I live in a house outside Sheabasku City, right next to the wall. Every education term my mother and I travel to the centre of the city to live with in the education centre I attend just so that we are closer to where we need to be. We never wanted to sell our house next to the wall due to sentimental value so in order for us to keep it my brother stays there as he has a job near there and it's easier for him to live there and travel to visit us rather than live with us during the terms. My family for generations have adopted/ fostered many children. They find them or get given them, raise them and then let them out into the world.

My life is alright, not the best but it is better than others I have seen. However, my life kinda went down hill when I was 5 years old. It was a windy autumn night, my mother was in the city and my father, who I do not remember, was looking after me, my twin (Alex, I don't really remember him that much as my dad took custody over him and left with him...) and my older brother (Michael) as we played with our toys. My older brother is only a couple of years older than me so I was lucky to be able to have him and my twin to play with. It was about 6pm and my mother finally came home, she bought with her a little pink girl. The pink girl had murky dark purple hair which faded onto a murky pink at the bottom, most likely had been dyed as it wasn't as vibrant as my family's hair. Her eyes are as orange as sunset and her face expression was smug. From that point I knew that I wouldn't get along with her.
"Nika... Alex... Michael... this is your new sister, Kez. Be nice to her, she needs taking care of as her family didn't have enough money to keep her" my mother said with a cheerful tone in her voice.
Michael, Alex and I looked at each other and then at Kez, we considered letting her join the game we were playing even though I did not want to play with her as something felt odd. Little did I know that feeling was right and that it would affect the way my life is.

I appreciated that I finally got a sister however this sister of mine... would make my life a living hell. She had to get all the attention and all eyes had to be on her, not me. She got spoilt rotten as my parents were so naive to her wicked ways that they didn't take any noticed and she was the supposed golden child.

Then one day... mother and father got into a fight, the fight was to do with Kez... Kez's demands grew so expensive that father couldn't handle it anymore. That day always plays again and again in the back of my mind, I could never forget how scary it was to see the fight. My father is a Wizard and my mother is a shape-shifter, that kind of made the fight worse due to how powers were used in the fight and all I could do was watch. My brother Micheal kept me and Alex behind him the whole time, where as I watched Kez from the otherside of the room with the most sinister smile of joy I had seen. I could tell that she wanted this to happen... I could tell that all she wanted to do in this world was cause misery and despair to other if she didn't get what she wanted.

Later that week father left with Alex... I didn't realise that I wouldn't see them again so for months after that I kept waiting for them to come back. After a year it hit me... they were never coming back. My mother was distraught. This made my mother pay more attention to me as I was one of her twin babies. I became precious to her... I was the only thing that reminded her of her son that got taken away.
