I caught up with the twins and Lee who had found us a carriage. We all climbed into it and sat down. The rain had attacked us all with its rage and we were all soaking wet. Fred and George being the children they are, decided to shake their heads like dogs. Lee and I let out a few grossed out shocks and a few laughs before we calmed down.
"What was that about?" George asked, gesturing towards where Lupin and I were.
"Oh nothing, he was just making sure I was okay and telling me that he was a professor this year," I told them.
Lee instantly looked excited, "What does he teach?"
"DADA," I stated as the twins smirked mischievously. "What's with you two?"
"Now we can get away with more pranks!" Fred cheesed.
I rolled my eyes, "Is that all you two think about?". They nodded at this question, making me giggle.
Out of the window, I see a large, black silhouette of the place I call home. It's so beautiful, even in the gloomy days. Golden lights shone from within the castle, making me happier to be back.
We came to a stop and before we could even open the carriage door, a gush of wind blew it wide open, bombarding us all with freezing cold air. Hairs on my arms stood up as the goose bumps appeared.
Lee hopped out first, then George and then it was my turn. I stood at the carriage door and attempted to walk down the steps. A strong wind knocked me back but instead of falling to the floor, I was caught by none other than Fred Weasley. One of his arms were clung around my waist as I hung halfway out of the carriage and his other arm was holding onto the inside of it. He pulled me back in, his other arm now joining the other, wrapping around my waist.
"Thank you," I say breathlessly.
"Well I couldn't let my future wife fall now could I?" he joked, unwrapping his arms from my waist. The warmth was now replaced with coldness and he began to make his way out.
Future wife huh?
He stood at the bottom of the carriage stairs and held out his hand, "M'lady,".
I took his hand.. no, I more of latched onto his hand, and began carefully walking down the stairs, making sure not to fall again. "Future wife?" I asked, smirking at him. I think he went a little pink, but then again that could have been because of the wind.
"Yeah," he returned the smirk. I made it to the bottom of the stairs, our hands stayed locked together.
"Now what would your wife think about that?" I referred to the 'wife' Lee had mentioned in the compartment earlier that day.
"She'll be fine with it, she knows you pretty well," he winked.
"Oh yeah, who is she?" we began to walk.
"You'll figure it out sooner or later," Fred just flashed at smile at me and turned his head back in the direction of the castle.
We pass through the castle doors and the warmth hits us. With my free hand, I pull out my wand and mutter a hot-air charm to dry my clothes. Fred looked impressed, "Where'd you learn that?"
"It's called reading Freddie," I winked at him, putting away my wand.
He now frowned, "What about me?"
"Maybe you should learn it yourself," I sniggered.
"But I'm your husband!" he whined.
"Not yet you aren't," I laughed.
"Not yet? So I will be one day?" his frown turned upside down.
"No, that's not what I meant."
"Oh so I guess I'll just take my hand back then," he removed his hand from mine.
Before either of us could say another word, Lee and George walked over to us.
"Where have you two lovebirds been?" George smirked, replicating the one Fred had plastered on his face not too long ago. We ignored his comment.
"Come on, we need to get to the Gryffindor table," Lee spoke.
"How are you two dry? You wouldn't know that spell!" Fred pouted.
"Hermione," George shrugged.
Fred dashed off to find Hermione as the two boys and I made our way to the Great Hall.
We all entered the Great Hall and like every year, I was surprised. My breath was taken away, the room was lit golden with hundreds of small flamed candles which floated in the air angelically. The ceiling was magically painted with a peaceful night sky. I stopped to take it all in and then made my way to the table. I sat down, George and Lee in front of me. We saved a seat for Fred beside me which was soon taken as a now dry Fred returned.
"Hermione is a life saver, I don't think I could have spent another second in those dripping wet robes,"
"I think Hermione should be your new wife," I told him. He turned to look at me, his eyes locking with mine.
"Nah, I still prefer you," As Fred spoke those words, Lee and George looked shocked. Not a bad shock.. they looked as though they had been waiting for him to say it for years. The boys began whispering to each other but I wasn't listening as my attention was now on some third year's conversation.
"Apparently he was seen not far from here," a small, brunette girl spoke.
"Do you think he will come to Hogwarts?" a blonde haired boy asked, looking slightly worried.
"No! Hogwarts is no place for Sirius Black," at the mention of his name, my heart dropped.
"But he is out of his mind! He doesn't care.. and according to the Daily Prophet, he is getting closer!" the kid spoke.
Arthur was right. My father might be coming to Hogwarts and if he does, he won't just be stopping by to kill Harry.. he'll be coming to see me too..
I let my thoughts take over me but they were interrupted by the sudden touch of someone's hand on mine. I looked to see Fred's hand gently placed on top on mine below the table.
"You okay?" he whispered. I just nodded in response and waited for Dumbledore to begin his speech.
