The human mind

"The human mind is truly the scariest thing of all. Scary yet intriguing. How they all look the same to a medical examiner, but different to a psychologist. How each of them may go through different learning processes to learn the same things. But it is mostly scary because the brain is the one in charge of everything in their lives. And if someone were to take control over their brains, then they would all be in some serious trouble, for humans would be unaware of the reality that surrounds them. If they were ever to lose their freedom, they would become lifeless creatures with no preference in anything. As luck would have it, they have yet to discover the technology that would allow somebody to control someone's mind and, therefore, their thoughts and opinions on anything.

For now, the frightening thing about the human brain is how from something so brilliant and beautiful can come a thing so horrifying and appalling as committing a crime. How someone can go from thinking about their plans for the next day, to planning a murder that would certainly scar many innocent souls. How a simple cashier could think of robbing the bank after having a bad day. Criminals are what give the human brain a bad name. Some of those lawbreakers may be ruffianly underground, while the rest appear on the news as if they were celebrities on the cover of Hello! Magazine.

This is the reason why I sometimes wish human brains had an option to defend themselves from ideas like these. Ideas that would harm people. Ideas that could ruin people's lives in unmendable ways. Sometimes is best to just stop. But can the brain really stop? The answer to that question is what really scares me.

Humans need to take a step back and think about where they are heading if they keep this up. They are doomed. They are incredibly gifted and capable of great things, and still choose to act like animals in most cases. I reckon it is time they understood the consequences of their own actions."

"Man! That's deep! I just asked you why you didn't like humans! Not to give me a monologue on how messed up they are!" Exclaimed the three-eyed alien as it playfully punched the rebellious astronaut.

They kept staring at the burning planet in a peaceful silence. For it was too late for Earth to be saved.
