~Sophia's POV~

I put the letter in the envelope and carefully poured the wax over the opening to seal it. I grabbed my stamp and after I was done pressing it down, the Hogwarts emblem appeared on the wax. After addressing it, I walked over to Archimedes' cage and let him out. Archimedes has been one of my closest friends since year 1 when I got him. I know it seems silly to consider an owl a friend, but I can't help it, he's a great listener.

"Hey, buddy," I said affectionately to the black-banded owl while scratching behind his wings.

He cooed at me l lovingly and I couldn't help but smile.

"Alright, Arch. This one is especially important. It's going to Sirius, okay? You know how much we like him."

Archimedes screeched in response like he knew exactly what I was talking about. I set him on my forearm and apparated us to the Owlery. I know I'm not exactly supposed to be apparating yet, but Fred and George taught me. Might as well use it. We landed with a loud crack and I stumbled trying to catch my balance.

"Sorry, Arch. You know I'm clumsy," I said apologetically.

The cool autumn breeze hit my face and I can't tell you how amazing it felt. Once I got my footing, I gave him the letter and with one swoop he took off. His black feathers blended into the night sky. After a few seconds, I couldn't see him anymore.

After recovering from the last one, I decided to apparate back to the dorms. I heard the crack and I was immediately transported back. Everything looked exactly the same as it did minutes ago, except for the fact that I was no longer alone. In the near 5 minutes that I was gone, all of the rest of the 5th year girls had decided to move into the dorms and grace me with their presence.

"You know I could have you expelled for that. Using illegal magic and such," a voice spoke up behind me. When I turned around I saw that it belonged to Pansy.

I was frozen solid to the ground. She wasn't bluffing. She really could have me expelled. All she had to do was report me for use of illegal magic for an underage wizard and I would be out of Hogwarts.

"Being a prefect and all, I really do have a certain standard to uphold. Can't have anyone stepping out of line," she said while polishing her prefect pin with her sleeve.

She's a freaking prefect now? Great. Just my luck.

I mustered up whatever courage I had in me and said "Pansy, please. I-If this is a-about what h-happened-"

"Stop stuttering like a fool. I don't speak scum," Pansy said coldly.

I took a deep breath and said "If this is about what happened on the carriage between Malfoy and me, I really had no intentions of-"

I was cut off again. This time by the tip of a wand being pressed against my chest. The room went silent. Even all of Pansy's little followers were shocked by her actions. I could feel my heart pound in my ears.

"Never, and I mean never, speak about Draco ever again. I know you want my boyfriend, everyone does, but know your place. If I catch you muttering a single syllable that sounds like you're going to say his name, I'll hex you so fast it'll make your head spin. Understand, scum?"

I looked down at the wand in my chest and back at her. Her eyes were intense and serious. She wasn't kidding around. I managed to mutter a yes and breathed a sigh of relief when she lowered her wand.
