Afraid, fearful, scared, worried, terrified and horrified were all terms perfect for the way I felt as I ran out of the library. My heart pounded faster and faster until I thought it would burst, my lungs worked furiously to keep breathing until I thought they might pop, my legs moved slower and slower until I thought the might buckle and my mind screamed to stop moving, but I didn't listen I had to get to grandmother, I had to. But the world started to slow down and all I could hear was the thump, thump of my heart and the sound of my strained breathing, I ran and ran and once or twice I tried to fly but I was too warn out, I tried to teleport but it took too much energy to even make my horn glow. If I stopped running and didn't make it in time I would lose everything, nopony would have any sort of warning, the city would crumble and fall just as it had did for Lamia. But the long hallways and twisting coir doors went on forever and the stair cases were never ending and my fear was overwhelming, I had to stop.

"Gloria! What in the world! Are you alright? You're as white as a sheet! What happened!?

It was grandmother. I stopped running and halted, I was so glad she was here.

"S-so glad-you-here-important-talk-now."

Were all the words I could say before I collapsed and blackness absorbed me.

I was flying. I was flying among puffy clouds of all colors. My wing carried me swiftly across the sky, I whooped and laughed without a care in the world. Then I heard a familiar voice and my mother drifted down from the heavens to fly beside me. Her voice was soft and warm as she spoke.

"Gloria. Wake up Gloria." she said softly. "The kingdom needs you."

And that's when the sky started cracking. My mother looked up in horror, turned to me and was about call out when she vanished into thin air.

"What's happening?!" I cried out. "Mother? Mother where are you?"

There was no answer only the deafening sound of the sky being ripped apart and I watched fear stricken as the tranquil seen vanished to be replaced with ongoing blackness.

"Gloria! Help!" A familiar voice suddenly called out. "He's coming!"

"Father!? Where are you? Who's coming?" I yelled. It was father! He was alive and in trouble.

My eyes flew open and I gasped for air, I looked around wildly and started to panic, where was I? What happened? I breathed in slowly and let it out. I needed to calm down.

Think Gloria, Think.

Think I repeated, think. I looked around, I was in a beautiful room with a broad ceiling, a tall dresser stood on my right and a doorway loomed on my left, torches glowed in their brackets and the sky outside was dark and speckled with stars. I realized I was in grandmother's bedroom, finally knowing where I was I looked down and quickly withdrew horrified by the sight that lay in front of me. I was lying on a bed legs sprawled out uncomfortably, but that wasn't it. Yellow veins shot up my body where the orbs magic had touched me and they were pulsing with a golden glow. The orb, I started to remember the events of... whenever that was, before I could think about it however I heard a commotion outside the doorway and in walked grandmother and boy was she upset.

"GLORIA!" She yelled. "WHERE WERE YOU!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!"

Dead? Why would she think I was dead? I guess I did collapse in the middle of the floor but still.

"Oh.. uh I was um... out for a walk?" The veins pulsed painfully as I spoke and it was an effort to keep talking.

"Do you know how worried I've been?" her voice was softer as she said this, she continued. "I thought you'd gone missing like those other ponies!"

"Other ponies? Don't you mean father?" I asked confused.

Well... y-yes and like the other ponies that nave gone missing in the past four days." she said awkwardly.

"Past... four... days. Past four days!?" I said horrified, it had been four days since my dream was this a coincidence? I didn't think so.

"Y-yes, I forgot to tell you. I don't know why their all going missing now." she paused and looked worriedly down at the floor. Then she continued.  "Oh look at you, what happened?"

I was taken aback by her sudden change of subject, but let her fuss over me anyways.

"What happened?" she repeated as she tended to my "injuries".

So I told her everything.
