Chapter 1. Why.

It's midnight, where the hell were you??" The concern in her voice is unsettling.

"Althea, if anything were you happen to you.."

It goes silent for what feels like an eternity, but stopped after a while.
"Why do you care" I try to whisper under my breath but she somehow still hears me.

"Of course I care."

Didn't seem to care about a month ago.
I don't answer, but she knows why.

"Are you seriously still hung up on that?"
She gawked

"Of course I am! Seraphina you left. For 4 goddamn months! Without a warning; no calls, no letters, no contact at all, and you're reasoning is that you were scared?" I say annoyed.

"I was! I thought.. nevermind"

"Gone for 4 months and you expect me to just forgive and forget? Huh? Because you were "scared?" That is no reason to leave me alone for 4 months. I thought you left me. For good. I thought that was the last time I was gonna see you, and you say you're scared. For what? I was scared. I was on my own for 4 MONTHS. I- You know what, no. I'll see you at school tomorrow. Don't be late. I'm sure everyone missed your sorry ass. "

"Althea wait"

I suddenly become aware of my heartbeat, I feel my heart beating as fast as a cheetah. It's unsettling, but either way I answer.

"What do you want now"

"Just.. stay safe"

"Sure, but it's not like you really care, do you?" Deep down I wish I waited for an answer. But I left as fast as I could anyways.
