The binding on the old book cracked and dust flew to the air as I opened its yellowed pages. The markings were faint, but still outlined enough to see the shape of a flame on the inside of the cover. I ran my hand over its beautiful shape and was taken aback to see the symbol glow faintly; perhaps the light on the gold print.

I held the heavy parchment in my hands just staring at the symbol, too afraid to turn the page. I had no reason to be afraid, but something was shooting warning sirens off in my head. I knew that whatever was in this book would change the rest of my life with every word.

"Staring at it won't make it go away. Even if it is destroyed, the story will always be there. It just depends on if you will listen to it or not." SilverFang said as I finally brought up the courage to turn the page. The thin page felt heavy as it revealed a spiraling mark imbedded with a golden flame, the words below it read: The flame within can extinguish a fury, the fury within can ignite the flame, but only one can control the elements of them both.

I stared at those words, trying to figure out what they even meant. To tell the truth, I was more confused now then I had ever been. A warm hand grasped around my slim shoulder as I turned to face the dragon heir. "I didn't get it the first time either. It took me years before I even figured it had any meaning for me."

My eyes wandered back to the page as I flipped it on its back to see line upon line of unitelligable symbols covering page after page. "What, is this?" I asked.

"It's the most ancient of texts ever written by the very first member of the High Court; my grandfather." SilverFang smiled as Alpha Redforce took out a long dark wooden box and placed it neatly on his desk.

"And this is the sword he crafted." SilverFang said as he carefully opened the dark case that lay on the desk.

The blade was long and looked as sharp as a dragon's claw. The double-edged blade shone beautifully even with just the artificial light illuminating on its silver surface. Laying beside it was an engraved tale wiithin the silver, beaded with death, destruction, and revival. The entire peice was jaw-dropingly magnificent as SilverFang picked up the blade and handed it to my awe-struck face.

My arms didn't work properly as he took the book from me and handed the sword in return. I flinched at the cool touch of silver, but mentally hit myself as I remembered that the silver hadn't effected me. The places where my hands touched the pure metal grew warm as I tested the weapons' weight.

"It' sbeautiful." I whispered as I handed it back to the dragon heir. It seemed too important for a wolf like myself to be handling it.

"Oh no," SilverFang put up his hands to deny the offer. "it is yours now."

I stared at him as the sword remained out between us. Pushing it back towards me, SilverFang continued. "Lumminere would want you to have this; he made this especially for you."

My mouth hung open at the unfamiliar name mentioned. Who was this guy, and why did he make a sliver blade for a werewolf?

Silince cleared her throat as she stood. "Maybe this is all a little too much in such a short time. It's too much for a young girl like-" SilverFang thrust his hand up for silence as looked at the watch on his wrinkled wrist.

"That might be so, but we don't have much time to take any of this slowly. You of all wolves know this." Silince's head bowed as the dragon heir grabbed his cane and quickly walked to the office door. "I'm afraid with the time we have," He stopped and sighed deeply, as if he was carrying some terribley heavy burden. "we might not even have enough." He whispered as he exited the office, leaving Silince, Redforce, and myself to stand eyeing the door he disapeared through.
