Midnight passes but I'm still awake. I slept from seven to twelve but I'm okay. Every morning I do the same routine all over again. I go to sleep I wake up and then I paint. Paint what I feel not what I see. I only paint from the heart and the heart of the world. A world that reminds me of closed doors. Unlike me, some people find there way to open the closed doors. I reached over and grabbed my brush then my purple paint... Time to get back to imaginary!
"Alice, are you awake yet we got to get going?" I look up from my painting "Yea I'm on my way up the stairs now!" I am getting ready to get signed into a cosmetology class. I've always loved cutting my own dolls hair so I thought why not do human dolls hair? I did want to be a nurse but then I realized cosmetology is what I really wanted to do with my life so I took the chance and went for it. Even though I dug very hard into nursing. But nursing people was not my wake up call. Cosmetology was.
Mrs.Ruso's eyes began to widen "Are you taking the prep online classes?" I looked over at her calendar to see how many days I would need to prepare for everything. I glance back at her "Well no, but only because my counseler won't return my phone calls!" She smirks then folds her hands. She grabs her cell and starts to dial numbers... She figured out how to get me into a preparation class and get caught up but I had to start prepping before I could begin the actual class... Mom dropped me off at the beach, I brought my running clothes in my workout bag. The waves were very soothing it made me smile and laugh with joy. Gosh I love the beach!
When I got home, I went to work on my painting. A painting that was 90% completed. This needs a few more touches to it. The painting was a portrait of the woods (at midnight) with the moon glowing down reflecting off the water. I drew this a year ago, but I had a lot going on that year with my Mom's catering business it was just too much. Mom walks into the room (more like the garage but I call this the imagination room) her hands on her hips with a smudgy look on her face. "Maybe you should sell these Anna, you could get a few bucks for them." I like my paintings." She moved her index finger back in fourth in the air then walked over to the stacks of paintings on the table. Honestly I think she's just trying to get me to get rid of them so she turn the imagination room into a gym! "We could use this space for a lot of other things baby. You know we need more room in the garage." If she would just stop trying to control my life and start controlling her own for once..."Here's an address I picked up off the internet you can check out. I think it'll help." I grabbed the keys to my yellow bug and out I went...
The address took me to a small town that looked kind of crooked. It would be a very unusual place to live. It was torn apart and the humidity here was crazy! The GPS lead me to a store. It had a small cute sign in the window that said "FOR SALE" I guess now I know what Mom meant. Mom wanted me to open up an Art gallery! That wasn't a bad idea and I could make real big time money with my art. As long as I get good money out of it and it get's mom off my chest. The sign had a number on it too so I called and sure enough I got the torn down shop! I told Mom the great news but she told me she gave me the wrong address and i was supposed to be sent to publix to get bread and milk but I think she just said that to mess with me right? She seemed mad I took the store but happy I was selling my paintings. Later that day, Mrs. Ruso calls me "Hey Alice" the tone in her voice let me know I got into the class! "Hey what's up?"
I slept from seven to twelve, I got up and began to paint, my eyes were sparkling next to the light of the moon and now I got something new to paint. My paint brush was stiff but the look on my face was stiffer. My hands were still and my head was cocked at a position were the moonlight hit my face. I took a picture so i could draw the picture and try to paint it (eventually) onto the white canvas...
Before I knew it, it was time to get ready for my class. I hopped into my yellow bug and next thing I knew I was doing preparation class and college. The trip to the college was about ten minutes which was not bad compared to the Art gallery's time: thirty minutes. When I walked in everyone didn't care I was new they were respectful and like mature adults. A girl about nineteen which was around my age (19) starts to prance up to me. She has golden blonde sparkley hair that laced down her back with a red bow in her hair at the top. "Hey, I'm Maggie call me Mags!" She was like a lady bug (not to mention she matched with her bow and socks!)dress on. She dressed like she was thirteen though which freaked me out a bit. "I'm Alice, nice to meet you Mags."
She winks then twirls "El gusto es mìo" she reached in her pocket then pulled out a paper that looked burnt on the sides with a number in the middle in pink pen. "Here text me and maybe we can hangout sometime?" She walks away and sits down. Class was in session... The class was fun and all but there's so much on my mind at the second too... It was midnight and the painting of the moonlight face was almost done. I couldn't wait to hang it up over my bed frame! I heard the door bell ring which was weird because its around the middle of the night. I heard Mom speaking "She's right in here darling." I heard a slam. A hand appears holding the side of my door with red and white nails. I didn't have to guess who it was when I saw them. Maggie! But how did she figure out where I lived? "Why the jump little bunny?" "I didn't expect you to show up so late and well, this is weird." she laughed "I just wanted to see if you wanted to go out for a drink?"
I pulled into a bar "Turks" it read with bug bright red letters. She slams her car door "Catch this Alpha!" She threw me her wallet...Time to have some fun I suppose. The bartender was hot as hell. His smile was really big and he was buffed. Maggie laughed "This is Bryce..."
