I was in Hogworts. The actual, real Hogworts.

I couldn't believe my eyes, it looks so ginormous.

A huge, rambling, quite scary looking castle with a jumble of towers and battlements. It had magical portraits on its walls, them greeting us, first years in.

"This is exactly like what my father described to be, Sykes!," a sharp sigh escapes my lips as I turned to my side to look at Malfoy who was smirking, looking around the castle.

Gosh, he was annoying as hell.

"Amazing, Malfoy.," I said in a very sarcastic tone, rolling my eyes at the bleached blonde boy.

"Welcome to Hogworts,"

All of our eyes suddenly look at the old lady wearing a long, black robe with a witch's hat and a wand in her hand. She must be a proffessor here.

I must give them a good impression of me, I do not want to slack off in my studies. I'm here to win, not to loose.

I then smiled, my chin raised up as I confidently looked at her as she began to explain something.

"The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The sorting is a very important ceremony, because while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogworts", she says with a pleasant smile.

"The houses are Gryffindore, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw...and Slytherin". All of the nodded -  happily - while my eyes slowly glanced at Draco, seeing him smirking at the thought of Slytherin.

Damn, he must be really willing to get sorted into Slytherin. Well, I hope I get into Hufflepuff. You do not want to end up with an annoying ass like him.

"Follow me...", she says before walking more in the castle while I quietly followed her with all of the other students chattering around.

"Exciting, isn't it, Sykes?"

I squeeze my eyes shut with my fists clenched, wanting to just shove an apple into his mouth so that his mouth would be shut. I really didn't want to hear his voice, so annoying.

"Yes, indeed, Malfoy.," I played along, not wanting to hurt the little boy's feelings. He smiled to himself wide before patting my shoulder twice.

"Father said I must be sorted into Slytherin or he would be mad at me for the rest of my life," he suddenly says, his tone of voice lowering down while pronouncing each sentence.

For a second, I felt bad at him. Considering myself, who've never felt the love of a father. My father died while I was very young, mother said it was because of his sickness, but I don't know what to believe.

"Well, I'm sure you'll get sorted into Slytherin," I said with a small smile, being nice for a second. Malfoy looks at me, a smile forming in the corners of his lips before he nods.

Right then, we were there.

The Grand Hall.

It was huge, way huger that I expected it to be. There was very long - four, to be exact - dinner tables with hundreds of students sitting on their chairs, all of their eyes on us, the first years.

I quickly spotted Cedric, sitting on the, I'm guessing Hufflepuff dinner table. I quickly shot him a big smile, waving my hand repeatedly as he chuckles, waving back.

"Who are you waving at?"

Annoying ass.

"My cousin, Malfoy,"

"Ah! Mr. Diggory, right?," he says with that small smirk of him once again before I bought my hand upto my face, regretting all of my life decisions.

Out of all the students, why did I have to become "friends" with him?

"Yes, Malfoy," he then nods once again before we all stop on our tracks due to Proffessor Mcgonagall stopping us.

"When I call your name, you will come forward and sit on this chair with the Sorting Hat on you," Proffessor Mcgonagall says with a small smile before pulling out a list of I suppose the names of us on the parchment.

The hat was very big. Thick brown fabric covered it as the hat looked at all of us with a big grin on its face.

"Abbott, Hannah!,"

A quite chubby, pink faced girl with bangs nervously walked towards the hat before putting it on which covered both her eyes and then sitting on the chair.

After a couple of seconds, the hat shouted out;

"Hufflepuff!,"

Lucky! I've always wanted to be on Hufflepuff, of course, it's because of Cedric and I just hope that I would be sorted into Hufflepuff.

"Perry Winston,"

"Ravenclaw!"

As more students got sorted into their houses, I was getting more anxious about being sorted second by second.

I just hope, please, Hufflepuff.

"Draco Malfoy!," Proffessor Mcgonagall shouted out, her eyes darting towards Malfoy.

His confident smirk never leaving his mouth, he walked towards the hat, sitting on the chair.

The hat barely touched the crown of his head, but yelled out;

"Slytherin!"

I'm glad, he got what he wanted. Now, God, just make me a Hufflepuff.

Draco got off the chair, still smirking as he proudly walked towards the Slytherin table while they cheered for him.

"Y/n Sykes!,"

Shit...that's me.

Gulping, I balled my fists before walking towards the Sorting Hat, sitting on the hair before putting it on.

"Hmmm... Very intelligent, I see. Ah, cunning! Has a good sense of humor as well? Oooh, I know just the perfect house to put you in!,"

"Slytherin!,"

And that's when I felt my whole world fall on me.

What about Hufflepuff? Cedric?

And that's when I noticed, I'll be stuck with him for the rest of my school years.

Draco Malfoy.

――――――――

"Sykes! I'm so glad you're in Slytherin as well!," Malfoy happily squeals, patting my back as I pouted, nodding.

"Yeah, nice... I wanted to be sorted into Hufflepuff, though,"

"Hufflepuff? Why? That house is filled with weaklings, Sykes!," says Malfoy, making my blood boil as I bit my lip, sending him a death glare.

"Shut up, Malfoy," I said, rolling my eyes before sitting on a chair in the Slytherin common room.

It had huge green walls, big windows with the huge lake surrounding Hogwarts as the view. Dark green carpets all over the ground with extremely comfortable, big, even darker green chairs. Smoke flew from nowhere, filling the room up, giving cold breezes from time to time. And then the warm fire place which warmed us all up.

For some reason, I really liked the Slytherin common room.

It was...my type.

"Alright, then. I'll shut up, only once since it's you," a couple of surprisingly sweet words leave the annoying boy's lips as he gives me a small smile before patting my head, walking towards the boys dorm rooms.

Is he okay?

Author's words.
