Outside the room Kevin decided to explain to Kai what he knows about the infection." Ok seeing as we're out here and Liam's inside I'll tell you how this infection thing works. It spreads through spores, those mushrooms release a gas that takes control of the brain. Infected individuals seek out the mean to spread the infection. The spore develop on their bodies and force them to go either higher up or low underground." Kevin says looking down the steps.
"Oh like that last of us game." Kai says as Liam comes walking out of the room. "Yeah like last of us, theres no spores but we need to get you a mask. Just in case we run into spores in the future, anyways let's out theres a window that leads to the back of the gas station. Theres garbage can down below that we can hop onto." Liam says walking pass two dead bodies on the ground.
"Did you kill these things while we were outside?" Kevin asks." Yes they didnt get up so it was easy to just double tap. Luckily they didnt start gassing yet." Liam says poking his head out the window looking down below.
The striders downstairs begin making a raucous once again banging on the door and busting in. "Guys it's time to go." Whispers Kai in order to not notify the striders of their location."Kevin to you still have the alcohol bottles? We're gonna need it." Liam asks. "Yeah I'll take them out real quick. I only have two though." Kevin replies. " That should work if you're planning on doing what I think you're doing." Kai says handing Liam two rags.
"Perfect." Liam says with a smile. With those supplies he makes two molotov cocktails and hands on to Kevin. Kevin take out a box of matches," I only have 3 left I'm not sur-" Kevin is cut off by a strider walking into the room.
Liam gestures for them to stay silent and watch where they step. Picture frames were broken and the glass would alert the strider.
Liam passed Kevin taking his knife from his hand and shifted his gaze to the strider sneaking up behind it to take it out. He sliced the back of its legs dropping it to the ground and drove the into the top of its skull. Kai and Kevin starring in disbelief of what Liam has done. Kevin took his knife back cleaning it before putting it back in its sleeve.
Kai sat in the windowsill awaiting Liams ok. "Kevin light your molotov and hand it to me." Liam says looking out the door at the stairs. Kevin does so and hands it to him, Liam taking his own and lighting his rag off of Kevin's flame, and throws them both down the stairs. Setting the back room a blaze hearing screams from the striders below. Two of which run up into a empty room Liam, Kevin and Kai already out the window.
"Liam where are we going now? That place had food and shelter." Kai asks.
" Theres a firing range not far from here, we might be able to stock up on ammo there. I have a pistol I got of a dead officer's body, clips empty."Liam replies.
"We can use the bridge of it's not blocked up but stride groups." Kevin informs. "Then that's where we go." Kai says and our group sets out to reach the firing range.
