the buzzing of your phone made you wake up, groaning as you reach for the small gadget. the screen lit up and you grunt at the intrusion of unwelcome light. but you squinted your eyes when it showed heejin's name. she was calling you in the middle of 3 am.

you felt the urge to answer but you didn't want to. yet you know you wouldn't able to avoid them all the time. it had been three months since you left them. they tried to call you so many times and still haven't given up. but it was kinda weird for heejin to call you.

you remember that the girl only calls you when it's serious.

so, fighting your feelings away, you decide to answer.

i answered the call and was greeted with heejin's voice. “ u-uh, unnie? ” damn, i just realized i missed her voice so much. i blinked and swallowed. “ yeah? heej? ” i respond and heard the sigh of relief she let out.

heejin was a good girl. along with yerim. i always thought she was as equal as the others especially hyunjin since they two are close but heejin was the opposite. the girl listens, obeys, and remember.

she tends to memorize everything and i thought it was kinda cool. the peak for being the number one in her school. she wasn't exactly quiet, she just didn't know how to start a conversation. i thought it was cute.

“ is there something you need? ” i asked, breaking the silence. heejin took a deep breath, “ i'm locked out of the house. the others won't answer my calls ” i instantly sat up.

“ why are you even outside? ” i asked, getting out of bed. “ i went to have a study group but came back late,, ” heejin explained as i put on my coat. i hum, taking my car keys and putting on my shoes.

“ where are you right now? ” i asked, exiting my new apartment. i hold the phone to my ear with my right hand as i pushed the elevator button. heejin stuttered a bit, it must have been very cold. i frowned, feeling my chest wrenched at the thought.

“ uh, ” she paused before continuing, “ i'm outside. in front of the house ” i nod before the elevator arrived at the ground floor and head to my car. it was a stupid decision but i decided to push it aside as heejin was my utmost worry now.

“ is the garage door locked? ” i got into my car.

“ yeah ”

“ okay. ” i ended the call as i start my car. ,i waited a few minutes before driving out of the parking lot. my eyes focused on the road, it was a pretty long drive from my apartment to the house. but heejin was waiting.

jiyeon had ended the call when i heard an audible sound of a car starting. maybe she was coming to pick me up. or not. well, a girl can hope. i sat down on the pavement, shivering at the cold.

“ i should've wear extra clothes ” i muttered, sighing. a few minutes had passed and i felt my fingers in my pocket going numb. my cheeks were cold as heck and i don't think i can keep my eyes up.

but then i heard the sound of someone walking. i shot my head up but was disappointed to see that it was just a man walking down. i stood up, needing a better look at the street when i felt someone grabbing my forearm. i yelped a little to see it was the man who was walking earlier.

“ uh-uhm, is there something i-i can help with? ” i stuttered, trying to avoid his eyes. i could tell he was drunk af and i don't want to be dealing with him. i squirmed, trying to get out of his grip. his hands were starting to loosen but then he tightens it.

i'll be honest, it hurt like fuck. what is wrong with this guy?  i thought. “ uh sir? ” i called out again and almost he kept staring at me which is very uncomfortable. i looked at him in disgust and i swear if i could punch him, i would have. but the problem is that i'm a softie. i don't even have the heart to kill a fly.
