“ dad? what? you're kidding,, ” you trailed off, eyes searching for any possible flaw on his expression. but there's none. other than the smile he puts on while his eyes were staring at you, dead serious.

haseul stepped up, “ this is really an uninformed visit,” she said knowing you were tensed around the old guy.

he chuckled. “ sorry for that haseul. i was just excited to see my daughters ”

hyejoo clicked her tongue however it wasn't loud enough for him to hear. excited my ass, she thought with a scowl on her face.

chaewon nudge her side. the younger girl glanced at her as chaewon shakes her head. a warning to hyejoo. she just rolled her eyes and looked away.

“ anyway, how are you all doing? is the house not to you girls liking? ” he asked with the same smile still on his face. they all shifted looks before multiple ‘ no ’ was answered.

he bobs with his fingers on his chin. “ i'm glad that you came to visit the girls but i don't appreciate you making me call you ‘ dad ’. i'm sorry mr. kim but it's just not gonna happen ” you fought off before the man in the suit sighed.

he plopped his hand on his thigh before standing up with a low grunt escaping his mouth. he walked over to you with eyes locked on you as he toppled you. he placed his hand on your shoulder, gripping.

“ hey, i know you're still not over your father. but you have to let go now. i'll try my best to be your new—

“ i appreciate the effort but i don't take you as one ” you spat the words cutting him off. he stared with shocked before his expression changed. the grip on your shoulder made you winced but you kept quiet about it.

“ cmon, jiyeon get over it. that guy is gone now. i'm your legal father now. your mother had approved of it. rules said it. you are under my protection—

“ —i can fucking protect myself. the only effort you should do is making sure the girls felt love and protected. because that's what you're supposed to do. take my advice. it's from experience ” you whispered, completely shutting him off while mr. kim sealed his lips.

just then, your mother appeared from the kitchen and was shocked to see you and mr. kim. he turned around and smiled. “ honey ” he walked to her, putting his hand on her waist before placing a kiss on her forehead.

jungeun wanted to laugh at how disgusted your face was. you didn't like what he was doing. you noticed he was whispering words to your mother as she looks at him and then at you.

he let her go and she walked towards you with an unreadable expression. you feared of what's gonna happen.

she stopped right in front of you. “ jiyeon ”

the other girls swallowed as they wait. the tension was getting bigger and bigger and you hope it's not anything bad. yet a part of you tells that something was definitely going to happen. something bad.

she opened her lips, “ you're no longer allowed to see the girls and no longer allowed to step in this house ” she told nonchalantly.

your eyes broadened and were about to fight back when hyejoo cut you off. “ THAT'S BULLSHIT! ” she shouted and stepped forward. your mother didn't waver at her voice and only look at the raven girl.

“ son hyejoo, you can't go against me or you're grounded for two weeks,” she said with eyebrows raised. hyejoo clenched her teeth and backed away. her face was red from the blood that rushed to her face.

you noticed how jiwoo had her fist closed, the knuckles turning white from how hard she was clamping it. chaewon was glaring. if looks can kill, your mother and mr. kim would have been in their grave now.
