Chapter 1 - Flying to Korea

[Mina's POV]

When we started dating we Skyped for hours almost every free night he had, when he wasn't practicing and when I wasn't studying. But that routine slowly deteriorated and dropped down to every few months and then more recently to none at all. I didn't feel angry I completely understood. He's an idol and his schedules are packed since he is a member of the popular Kpop group Bts.

I still send him texts every morning and night wishing him a good day and for him to sleep well, to not over practice to the point he becomes unwell and for him to stay healthy. But in recent weeks I'm becoming uneasy.

I decided to take a gap year from university and I am now ready to fly to Korea to finally meet him after almost 2 years.

"May I see your ticket please?" The stuardess asked as I boarded the plane. I handed her my ticket. "This way please," I followed her to the first class area of the plane.

I have no idea why I bought a first class ticket, I'm not from a wealthy background. But I've been saving up my money by taking on several part time jobs during the hours when I didn't have any lectures. It was difficult to keep up with assignments and deadlines and there were times when I got very sick but I still continued, determined to be able to see him again.

FLASHBACK

I was visiting my grandmother before I left for Korea when she carefully handed me a white envelope, it looked like she was hiding it from my parents. My eyes grew large when I opened it revealing a large sum of money.

"No grandma, I can't accept this." I whispered putting the money back inside the envelope and handing it back to her. "You need this for yourself. You're sick this should be used to buy your medicine so you can feel better.."

She shook her head pushing the envelope back towards me. "Ani Mina-ah this money is important to you too. Its so you can buy food and so you can travel around until you get your first paycheck."

In the end I took a quarter of the money, insisting it would be more than enough. I made her promise me that she would spend it on her medicine. I wanted her to get better, her health was a lot more important to me.

END OF FLASHBACK

The stuardess showed me to my seat and I couldn't contain my excitement anymore. I started jumping up and down whilst looking out of the window, which earned a fair few funny looks from the aircrew.

Despite the fact that the sun was just rising, I had so much energy and I wasn't sure what to do with it.

I glanced away from the window and saw a young man approaching me. He looked around the same age as me. He was tall and had short dishevelled black hair, which made him look as if he had woken up only a few minutes ago. He was wearing a facemask but from the way his eyes were shaped I could tell he was smiling happily. He sat down next to me bowing his head saying nothing but continued to smile. I bowed my head back and said hello to him. He smiled again, put on his headphones and closed his eyes.

I noticed the board on the ceiling had lit up indicating the passengers to put on their seltbelts. I tapped the man's shoulder and pointed to the sign above our head. "Ah thank you," he said, his eyes curling up into a cute eye smile.

The plane began to depart from the airport and took off. This was going to be a very long flight and I decided it would be best to take this time to catch up on sleep.

I stretched as I stood up from my seat 'ah~ I'm finally here! I can't wait to see you again Jimin its been so long.' I thought to myself, a grin forming across my face. I earned a strange look from the man sat next to me. 'Eheh he probably thinks I'm crazy smiling to myself like this.'

"I'm sorry," I said bowing to him. He shook his head giggling and headed towards the exit.
