The group of three are walking along market street witnessing abandoned cars and bodies littering the street. The bridge they plan to cross is above the Berg River. A river that slits the town in half, Liam asks Kevin to scavenge through the cars.
"Hey Kevin do you thing you can search some cars?" Liam says pointing over to a SUV with the trunk open. "I check it out but watch my back." Kevin says walking over to to the SUV stepping over a dead body with the head severed.
The did of the bridge where there would normally be railings made of concrete sits a gap where a car when crashing off of and into the water below. "Those people had a bed day." Kai says looking off the edge into the water.
" Hey Liam I found a gym bag with some cloths, I think they'll fit me so can you watch the car while I change?" Kevin shouts. From next to Kai Liam shouts " Sure, make it quick."
The sound of skin tearing catches Kai's attention them to alert Liam of the possibility of striders. Liam notices and goes to tap on the window of the car Kevin was changing in. He mouths "Striders, finish up quickly we have to take a detour." then pulling out his hockey stick holding it over his shoulder preparing to swing at a strider.
He walks around the car and witnessed a dog ripping flesh off a corpse. "Poor thing, probably hasn't eating in a while." He thinks to himself. Kevin finished dressing and opened the car door which scared the dog. The dog whipped its head around exposing a mushroom growth on the side of its face.
The dog pounces at Liam and with one swing, Liam hits the dog of the bridge. The impact sound echoed waking up the bodies on the bridge ahead. "OFF THE BRIDGE NOW!" Liam screams running back in the direction they came from. Kevin shouts," We passed a nature reserve on our way here we can hide there!"
The three hastily made their way off the bridge. Dodging between the tightly piled cars and striders running at them, as they approach the nature reserve they notice the gates were wide open. The dense foliage of the tree overgrowth gave them plenty places to hide.
Liam and Kai climb one of the taller trees while Kevin hides behind one of the bushes with his revolver hammer cocked. Now aimed at the entrains off the reserve when they all hear the noise of striders approaching...
