He grabbed her waist and kissed her like he had never kissed anyone before. She felt herself melt into his arms. After several long minutes, they finally broke apart. Resting their foreheads together, she whispered, "I'll miss you." He moved away, smiled, turned, and left. She remembers hoping to see him again. She remembers the heartbreak when she never did.

"What the f*ck." Is all that I can say, "What. The. Actual. F*ck." I grab my phone from its resting place on my bed next to me. Click my phone app. Click my favorites. Click Elijah. Dialing.

Pause, "Aurora, why are you calling me at 3:00 in the morning? Its winter break, you aren't allowed to disturb me. You know that."

"I finished."

"Really? What do you think?" I can hear him gain interest.

"So is this a reasonable excuse for calling you?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, what do you think?"

"What the f*ck. How can they end it like that?! That is not ok. Can we sue them or something?" He laughs.

"I know right. At least it's kind of realistic, at least it's not some cr*p happy ending hollywood made up."

"I, for one, live for those hollywood happy endings. If I can't have one, I atleast want the characters in the book to have one."

He laughs again, "Okay, so can we talk about this in the morning? I need my beauty sleep. I'll drive over."

"Sure, but one, I'm 20 hours away. Two, you only have your learners permit, so you can't even drive on your own."

He groans, "I forgot. Come back already. I'm not joking. I'll kidnap you."

I laugh this time, "Should I take that as a threat? Should I call 911?"

"Definitely. I'm known for going through with my threats. I'm also a known kidnapper. You'd better be careful." I can hear him smiling through the phone. I smile.

"I'll be back in a week, it'll be like the blink of an eye. Promise."

"A week is seven days. 168 hours. 10,080 minutes. 604,800 seconds. Thats a lot of time."

"Shut up. Didn't you say you were tired?"

"Oh yeah. I'll call you tomorrow. Night Rory."

"Goodnight El."Call disconnected. I exhale and lay back. Only seven more days. I turn to look at my sister. I don't understand how she is still asleep. Sigh. I close my eyes, expecting sleep. It doesn't come. Damn you book, why could you be normal and end happily. I open my eyes. Now what. I grab my phone. Scroll through instagram. Scroll through YouTube. Scroll through Snapchat. I go on iTunes because why the h*ll not. I search Hozier because, why the h*ll not. I buy six new songs. I think I can fall asleep now. I close my eyes. I open my eyes. My brother is sitting on me. Yawn.

"What are you doing?"

"Dad said to wake up."

"Okay, so why are you sitting on me?"

"So you'll wake up."

"Ok. I'm awake."

"Ok." He gets off and runs out of the room. I lay my head back down and close my eyes. I can feel myself begin to fall back asleep.

"Wake up," my dad jolts me from my slumber. I groan.

"I don't want to. Let me sleep." I hear the door close. That worked? I go back to sleep. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. I grab my phone and answer. "What?"

"Your dad called me. Wake up."

"You're on my dad's side now? Turning on me El? I see how it is."

"Shut up. And get up."

Groan. Sigh. "Fine. I'm awake."

"What time is it there?" I take my phone away from my ear.

"10:00. What about at home?"

"12:00. Come home soon."

"I will. Promise."
