I set my navy blue duffle bag on the dirt path, facing the cozy house holding up only by the use of magic, the bag's Ravenclaw pin blinding me as it reflects off the sun. I turn around and hug my grandmother, in return getting a feather in my mouth from her obscenely large hat. She pats my back, but as she pulls away, her engagement ring gets caught in my jet black hair that was wrapped around her hand.
"Oh! I'm sorry darling!" She apologizes, "You really should cut this soon you know! Doing magic with hair down to your waist, well, it will just not do. Especially with the new event this year. If you will only-" She continues but I cut her off, sneezing from the dust her old camaro had picked up from she had quickly slammed her foot on the breaks, as if she had forgotten where she was going. It wasn't as if I went here every summer. Yes I did.
The Burrow.
"Nana, I told you I'll be fine. I'll figure something out with it." I sighed, flipping it over my pale shoulder. I gave her one last hug and kiss on her wrinkly, sunken cheek before grabbing my bag once more and stepping into the house.
"Wait what new even-" I'm about to ask as I turn back to the car that was apparently now speeding down the long country road. It's a mystery how that woman is still allowed to drive.
"Adola!" I hear as two long haired identical gingers came rushing down the staircase.
"Freddie! George!" I shout as I hug them both. I was at a loss for breath as the two sixteen-year-old boys enveloped me in their long arms, crushing me in return. "G-guys! Can't really breathe here!"
"Oh! Sorry mate." Fred says as they quickly lets go.
"Who's here?" I hear as I spot another red-head peek out from the living room, "Oh, hello Adola."
"Hey Gin! I'm surprised you didn't hear your brothers practically scream my name as I barely stepped into the house.
"Sorry I was talking to Ron." She replies as the boy soon steps into the room to join us and I give him a wave.
"That's alright."
"Come on now! Don't keep us waiting for too long!" George says as he tugs on my arm towards the stairs.
I wave goodbye to the other two siblings as I'm rushed up to the twin boy's room. They quickly shut the door and sat me down on their rug, between the two beds.
"So! Do you know what's happening this year?" Fred asks me seriously.
"Huh? Er, I don't think so..."I reply, confused at his sudden change in attitude, "Oh wait yes! My grandmother mentioned something as I got here, but she didn't say what. Why? Is it something bad?" I didn't doubt it would be. Since our school has been home to Harry Potter for the past four years, something interesting or life-threatening has happened multiple times.
"Mum has been talking non-stop about how exciting this upcoming year will be, but she refuses to tell us more details. I reckon it's something ridiculous and not worth fussing about if she's so excited." George says rolling his eyes.
I shake my head, giggling slightly as their annoyed tone. "Sorry guys. I don't think my grandma even remembers her own name, let alone what I'm doing for the next 9 or so months. She probably read something in the Prophet about it, but forgot to mention what it was about."
"Cutting that hair?" Fred replies chuckling.
I smack his arm, "I wouldn't be talking if I were you, you bloody mop," I say, hinting towards how long his hair had gotten over the summer, falling just above their shoulders.
"At least I look good with it!" They say at the same time.
"But I look better for sure!" George says, earning a look from his brother.
