Hope you enjoy chapter 1.
"Hey come on." Tyler says pulling me away from my house and the talkative parents.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"You'll see."
"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me where we're going." I say stopping in my tracks.
"Oh come on Anna don't be such a downer."
"Alright alright. Where to?"
A smile comes across his face as he pulls me along more.
When we get to where he wanted to go, I just look at him.
"What?" He asks.
"It's just an open field."
"An open field for us to lay down and watch the stars together." I laugh at this idea.
"What?" He repeats.
"Nothing Tyler." I smile as I lay down on the grass.
He looks at me before shaking his head and laying down next to me.
"So you're turning 14 next month." I say looking at the sky that's filled with stars.
"I know. I'm so happy." He smiles.
Tyler and I are both 13 and we've been best friends since we were born. Our moms have been friends since college.
I'm an only child in my family, but Tyler is like a brother to me.
"Anna." Tyler says getting up a little bit after we layed down
"What's wrong?" I ask.
As I stand up and look behind me, I see a white van coming for us.
"Run!" Tyler shouts before grabbing my hand, pulling us towards the forest.
Fear engulfs me as the closer we get to the forest, the closer the van comes. What do they want with us? Are we going to be kidnapped like that one girl last year?
We make it into the forest and hide behind a tree.
"What are we going to do?" I panic, still catching my breath.
Tyler motions for me to be quiet as he puts a hand over my mouth. My eyes get wide as the van come right to the edge of the forest and people step out.
"They went this way!" One of them shouts behind him.
I feel Tyler's hand leave my mouth and whispers that we got to go.
As we start to run more, they hear us and begin to chase us down. When I look in front of me, I realize that Tyler is no where to be found. I want to call out his name, but that'll only give me away.
I was running more and that's when I felt arms wrap around my waist.
"Let me go!" I cry as they carry me.
"Hey! I got the girl." He says.
"What about the boy?" Another one asks.
"Boss told us not to worry about him because he won't do well in the business."
Business? What business? Better yet I don't even want to know. I just want to be home talking with my parents and having fun withTyler.
I start to struggle more in an attempt to break free. That only makes the guy hold onto me tighter.
"Please! Somebody help me!" I sob.
"Shh. It's alright." He says stroking my hair as he walks.
No it's not alright I've heard about what happened to that one girl when she got kidnapped and I don't want to end up that way.
I scream as loud as possible only to be slapped across the face, my cheek stinging.
"Shit man. We got to hurry now. There's no way people didn't hear that." The other guy says speeding up.
We make it to the van and I struggle even more. I know my freedom's gone when I get put into the van. I get even more scared as one of them closes the door before getting in the passenger seat.
"Alright we got her. Now let's go." He says.
"What about the boy?" The driver asks.
"We couldn't get him. He ran off into the woods somewhere. We were going to try and search for him but she started screaming her head off." The one holding me laughs when he said I started screaming.
"You would scream too if you were about to get kidnapped too." I say back.
"Maybe. Maybe not." The guy in the passenger seat says.
"Please let me go. I don't want to be here." I cry.
"Sorry little missy, but you're stuck with us now."
My parents are so going to flip when they find out what has happened to me.
The more I think about my parents, the more I struggle.
"She's a fighter. She's going to be harder to break." The driver says.
"That's for sure." The one holding me says.
"Hey can we calm her down before things get out of control. I don't feel like falling off a bridge like the others." The driver says.
The guy in the passenger seat takes a cloth out of his pocket and throws it to the guy holding me. He covers my mouth and nose. Instantly I stop struggling and my eyes feel heavy.
"Goodnight my darling." Is the last thing I hear before I black out.
