Chapter 18:

"Wait so your mom was able to change your hair at the root so half it grows blonde?" Cho asks, fascinated. I giggle at her reaction.

"Yeah! Basically when I was stuck in Azkaban, the spell was taken off so my roots grew out terribly. She had to fix it as soon as I got out."

"That's amazing! I've always wanted to do something cool with my hair, but I don't think I could pull it off."

"Oh shush, you definitely could! I see you looking good with some dark blue ends." I look down and start to organize my sprawled out homework.

"What's that?" Cho asks, pointing to the snake tattoo towards the back of my neck. "Is that a real tattoo?" I stifle a laugh.

"Yeah, in Azkaban, they required me to get one. It's jinxed. Basically they can track me. They do that when they release people who have been imprisoned. It's like a safety precaution to make sure I don't do anything. As if I'd try."

"It's brilliant! You know you're not what everyone says. I really don't know why people are so afraid of you."

"I do. I mean when word was out that a 12 year old got sent to Azkaban, it made headlines everywhere. I could see why people were scared."

"Well I think people shouldn't be so quick to judge, you're amazing." I smile at my new friend.

I think Cedric and I both silently agreed to ignore the situation that occurred with Ben Harris the other day. He still continued to talk to me and try to make plans with me regardless of what Harris said. Although he does keep doing that thing he does where he leans over me and gets really close to my face but then backs up before getting too close. I had told Hermione about this and she keeps suggesting the idea he fancies me, which I keep denying. As for me and Harry, I continued to help him with potions, which he was getting better at. He honestly barely needed my help at all, but I wasn't complaining, I liked hanging out with him. Christmas holiday was nearing and Draco and I would have to go home soon. I thought I was going to have a generally peaceful week, I was so wrong.

I had just finished a potions test and handed it in. Snape looked over it and graded it right away and handed it back to me.

"Outstanding, as usual Miss Malfoy. May I ask if you have completed the essay due next class?"

"Yes Professor I have, along with the quiz questions you asked me to create for the third years. I put them in that folder over there."

"Well I see no reason to keep you in class seeing you have completed all the work needed. You may leave." I nod and head out of Potions. It honestly felt nice being liked by Snape, because of him, I got easy points for Slytherin and got out of class early. I decided to head over to Hagrid's since I figured he might need help, knowing he had the Gryffindors and Slytherins together in one class. I walk out to his hut to see Harry land a hippogriff, I think his name is Buckbeak, on the ground. He spoke with Hagrid for a few seconds before I heard Draco's voice.

"So you're not dangerous at all are you?" Draco spits walking towards Buckbeak. I take a step closer to them. "You big ugly brute!"

"Malfoy," Hagrid starts.

"Draco watch out!" I shout. I was too late. Before I knew it, Buckbeak was on his hind legs and had scratched Draco's arm, causing him to fall to the ground. I rushed over to him along with Hagrid.

"It's killed me! It's killed me!" Draco whines.

"Oh shush, you're being dramatic. It's just a scratch." I say helping him sit up.

"Hagrid, he needs to be taken to the hospital wing!" Hermione exclaims.

"I'll take him," Hagrid says, picking up Draco. "Class dismissed!" I grab my bag and follow them to the hospital wing.
