"Holy shit.." Violet whispered to herself at the sight of Clementine.
Many things were happening to both her mind and her body, she tried to stop her mind from jumping from one thought to the other and just focus on what's right in front of her. Her heart was racing and her palms started to sweat.
The sight of Clementine was both painful and joyful at the same time and here's why.
First, she was happy to see Clementine after so long and couldn't want anything more than to hug her.
Second, she was so sad to see her on crutches and knowing that somehow this was her fault made her think she's better off far away from her.
Clementine on the other hand was so full of anger and hurt while she was walking through that door, she was angry at Violet for shutting people out and for what?!
She couldn't wrap her mind around it and she wasn't having it.She knew Violet, sure she didn't take shit from anybody but this was taking it a bit too far.
But all these emotions went away at the sight of Violet, everything was replaced of how much she missed her and how good it was to see her.
"Vi..." Clemente said, her voice breaking a little.
She made her way to Violet and wrapped her arms around her neck in a tight embrace, she didn't care about her crutches falling down at her sides, she was finally holding Violet and everything felt a lot better than it was.
Violet froze when she felt Clementine this close, one second she was about to have a mental breakdown and then the next Clementine was hugging her.
The sound of Clementine's crutches falling snapped her out of her daze and she slowly wrapped her arms around Clementine's waist.
She didn't know what to say or what else to do, she wanted to hold Clementine and also balance her so they didn't fall.
That's a lie she just wanted to hold her.
Clementine breathed deep the scent of Violet, you'd think they all stink in the apocalypse which may be true but at this moment Clementine smelled Violet's scent, her special unique chemical scent, the scent that was all over her bed sheets back in the school, the scent that started to fade away real fast but Clementine was experiencing that scent again.
"You fucking asshole." Clementine whispered in Violet's ear while inhaling another breath.
This made Violet feel even worse and she pushed Clementine away so now they were facing each other, Clementine's hands were still on her shoulders and she was still holding her by the waist.
They both stared at each other's eyes, both trying to figure out what the other one was thinking, did Clementine hate Violet? Did she blame her for what happened to her?
Did Violet have a chance with Clementine and the others too?
"Clem..what are you doing here?" Violet finally let out and looked down at the ground, feeling ashamed to even look at Clementine's eyes, but this made her notice Clementine's missing leg, which made her feel even worse.
She helped Clementine sit on the mattress and brought her crutches next to her and turned her back on her.
"Violet, what are you doing?" Clementine asked quietly.
Violet sighed and replied with "You shouldn't be here Clementine, or outside at all. It's not safe."
"So you should be here on your own?" Clementine said clearly annoyed by what she heard.
