Growing Up In This (Zombie Apocalypse)

The start

I wake up, listening to my sisters get ready I sigh and get up today is the first day of summer vacation. I grin happily humming ‘You’re going to go far kid’ By the offspring. Putting on a blue under shirt with a white tank top and short shorts with a pair of white sneakers putting on a little bit of eyeliner and Chap Stick. I run down stairs to my mum and little brother Neo, she’s trying to get him to eat I sit down next to her she has dark bags under her eyes. “Go take a nap mom I will take the girls to the park and watch Neo ok?” I ask her she nods and sighs getting up going upstairs to her room while I get Neo to eat.

My little sisters Meko and Lanna (twins) tumble down the stairs laughing and getting the poptarts out of the toaster “Where is Kellin?” Meko asks her black curls swaying green eyes curious “He is still asleep I think” I reply feeding Neo another spoon full of baby food. They sigh, I set Neo in his play pin in the living room and walk into the kitchen eating a yogurt. “you guys wanna go to the park?” I ask them they nod strawberry pop tart in their mouth “ok when you done go get your sneakers” they nod again excitedly and they stuff the rest of the pop tart in their mouth and run up stairs I walk up stairs to get Kellin dressing him in a black one piece that says ‘My mummys tattoos are better then your mummys’ I put cute little baby jeans on him with little baby converse I have him on my hip and I walk down the stairs Meko and Lanna playing with Neo, Meko playing with his blonde curls.

Let me introduce my family My mum (Amy) has thick curly blonde hair and brown eyes my, father (Mark) died in Afghanistan a month ago on duty he had black hair with green eyes, Meko got my fathers looks with my mums curls, and Lanna has my mums looks with no curls, Neo looks just like my mum, And Kellin is my kid (even though im 17) I had him when I was 15 with my ass hole boyfriend. My family doesn’t belive in abortions so I kept him, and im glad I did, He has Gray eyes like his father and black hair like me I put the boys in a twin stroller and take Lanna and Meko walking down to the local park.

Once we get to the park its quiet the girls play on the swing set and the monkey bars while I swing the boys slowly in the baby swings and text my Bestfriend Kat ‘You going to the mall with me?’ she texts ‘yea im at the park now with the kids meet you there in  a hour?’ I ask her ‘yea see ya’ she texts I put my phone back in my pocket I get Kellin and Neo in a stroller and get Meko and Lanna to go back home with me.

About 10 minutes of being home my mother wakes up looking a lot better then she did “Hey mum going to the Mall” I shout as I walk out the door with my purse texting Kat ‘brt in 20’ I text and drive to the mall seeing Nat with her phone infront of the mall two starbucks in her hands I walk up and take one “thank you” she nods and we walk in not many people are there. “Can we go to Hot topic first Neveah?” she asks I nod grinning and we walk in she gets a couple Belts I get a Off spring shirt and a Get scared sweater after that we hang out at the food cort. “how is Kellin?” She asks, Being the god mother, “good me and my mom got a him a cute onesie that says-” Im cut off by a loud scream kat and I shoot our attention to the girl by subway it looks like her boyfriend is kissing her neck-ew- then I relize theres blood rushing down her neck I get up quick Kat shouting after me I rip the guy off her “HEY what are you doing!” I scream at him she falls to her knees a big gash in her shoulder a couple of workers are calling the cops a panicked ‘there not answering’ from behind the counter the guy gets up unharmed he has white milkey skin…not the good kind either what looks like a collar bone in his mouth blood dripping off his chin black soulless eyes I send him back to the ground and start kicking him he does nothing but grab my ankle I stomp on his wrist the hand having such a tough grip on my ankle the hand comes off and he has no hand I start to kick in his face with my heel hitting directly his eye I feel my muffin I was eating start to come up I take my heel out of his eye socket taking my shit off the chair and dragging Kat with me I hear a girl scream again I look to find the girl with no collar bone is eating some other girl I drag Kat who threw up all over the table with me to my car “what the fuck just happened?” Kat screams at me I glare at her for the crude words “I don’t know we need to get back to our homes though” she agrees.

 Her house is closest to the mall so we stop there I reach under my seat reaching for a box I bring it out and open it inside is a red velvet material and a shiny silver hand gun, Kat looks at me wide eyes “incase theres any more of those things left” I sigh she nods and we walk in her house she reaches for the spare key unlocking the door quietly we walk in I got my gun pointed “stay with me” I mumble we walk around going upstairs, nothing, we walk to the living room, nothing, Kitchen, noth- we walk up to the counter written in black Pen is “Im sorry” from her mom Kat screams Anger filling the kitchen “IM SORRY!?”she screams ripping the paper in half I just rub her back as her red cheeks fade she picks up a glass of water dumping the water on the counter and slamming the glass into the wall shards going every where “KAT!” I scream she looks at me tears threating her eyes “Go get some stuff together please anything that’s sentimental” I sigh knowing the things will soon enough invade every house in town she nods and stalks up stairs I don’t bother to clean the shards of glass up but I grab the lap top that’s fully charged she rushes down a dark green pack pack on her back we go back to my car setting the things in the back she crys the whole way to my house.

We pull up the door slightly open my eyes widen with fear my family, Kellin. I walk up to the house Kat following behind me I open the door I walk into the living room, nothing, upstairs, nothing, Kitchen, I break down My mother on the ground, Dead, being eatin Neo eating her stomach shes still holding him his once brown eyes are now black like the man at the mall, Meko eating at her thigh her black curls stuck together with blood, and Lanna happily eating at her neck blonde hair red with blood, tears fill my eyes Lanna looks up, Shes not Lanna, I can NOT let these things be living inside of my family. She gets up from the happy meal my mom was opening her arms as if to hug me, sick, a sighlent tear goes down my cheek “im sorry” I murmer Kat turns away I shoot Lanna in the head, The only way they die, my gun shakes as I shoot Neo clean in the head, Meko looks up at me her eyes go green for a second then turn back to the black she gets up and starts torward me I shoot she falls to the ground I let out a sob “You had to” Kat says behind me I shakily set the gun on the counter putting Meko and Lanna next to my mother setting all three with there eyes closed and hands holding eachother.I grab little neo holding him to my chest and setting him next to my mom making sure shes holding him even in death. Kat just stares at me “come on” I growl she gets up quickly as we walk up stairs to my room I grab a couple shirts and jeans a picture of my father and my family a picture of Kellin…Kellin. I start to Cry and run to his nursery looking inside the crib to find a peacefully sleeping baby I sob over him and Kat walks over to me “oh my god” she mumbles I pick my baby up she opens his grey eyes “my baby!” I sob falling to my knees Kat smiles happily and starts to pack a bag for him “mum” he laughs bouncing up and down hes still in his little onesie and jeans I put on his shoes as Kat packs up formula and diapers all I can do is Cry I get up slowly with him still in my arms I get a “Baby back pack” my mom calls it I set him in and put the straps on my shoulders I walk over to my room grabbing my bag Kat giggles at me and the baby “come on” she sniffs we walk out of there the street full of screams we rush in the car.
