Chapter one:
My hand smashed the near by clock on my end table, the snooze button remains unpressed as I rubbed my hand from missing the clock. I sighed sitting up and squinted as the sun shone through my laced dark red curtains, I pushed the quilt off of my legs and swung them over to get off of my bed. I stood up uneasily as a bright flash pierced my vision momentarily from getting up to quickly, I wobbled over to my bathroom and pushed the door open yawning and rubbed my eyes. Making my way over to the sink I gripped the corners and looked at my reflection in the mirror which seemed to catch every contour line perfectly, except it was reverse which is what I felt like half the time. I quickly yet thoroughly brushed my teeth and stared at the little bed of sweat stick to my forehead and collar bone, I groaned lazily. Ignoring my stubbornness, I grabbed a fresh towel out of a rack which held many of my freshly cleaned white ones. I slowly unclothed my body and turned the handle to the shower and set it to cold as the summer heat punished my skin. I stepped into the shower and let the cold water sting my skin to wash off the heat, I reached for my loofa and pour a decent amount of body wash on to it. After washing myself I stepped from the shower and wrapped the towel around my body and reentered my room and rummage through my draws to pick fresh clothes. Just as I finished dressing my phone rang on instinct and I reached over for it looking at the caller ID. 'Sammie' I read, I sighed and picked up. "Hello?" I questioned looking back over at my clock to see the time. '7:13'"We have battle training nerd, have you forgotten?" He asked annoyed, hanging up my body ran to the closet and quickly picked out work clothes and threw them on. Rushing down stairs I picked up a sports bag left by the door and reached for an apple in a basket my mom left near the front door, my hand fished for the keys in my bag and yanked them out and headed over to a car parked in my drive way. Pressing a button the door opened and I stepped into it quickly, I turned the key in its slot starting the car and I drove off. My eyes hurt as they tried to catch the signs we passed as I drove over to the head quarters. Taking a huge bit out if my apple I pressed a button in the car answering an incoming call.
"Hello?" I asked with a mouth full.
"Hurry up will you" Beckie's voice called out from the speakers, I swallowed and gripped my neck and gaged realizing one of the part I swallowed wasn't chewed.
"I am, I'm near by" I replied my eye catching the sign that told me I was exactly a mile away. "Just, uh. I don't know tell him I am rushing over." I said quickly so I could take another bit of the apple. My eyes caught a glimpse of the building.
"No need to worry Lydia, Mr.Colesworth loves you" She said a bit jealous.
"Exactly more of a reason to be ashamed when i'm late" I argued back pulling into the parking lot and hanging up as I rushed into the building and turned down a long hallway to enter the locker room. As I walked the echoing of my shoes sounded heavier then my little body could have made, someone was following me. To keep like normal, I walked at the same pace. I stopped instantly letting another foot step echo off the halls, but that one obviously didn't belong to me so whipped around to see Trevor standing in the hall. I dropped the bag and quickly pulled out a dagger from the side pocket, I took a small step towards him. "Yield" I shouted so loud I hurt my own ears.
"Ly-"
"Yield, or I will release and we both know I won't miss." I threaten pulling my arm back in position to throw, he got down on his knees and threaded his finger through his hair. I turned my head to yell for assistance when a scuff sounded, I turned back to Trevor and he was sprinting to me. Bombarded by this action I awkwardly threw the knife which pierced his shoulder, I was about to bolt when he takled me to the floor.
"Look I-" My knee smashed his groin, and my left elbow connected with his chin seeding him reeling giving me a chance to run. I scrambled to my feet and ran down the hall slamming into Sammie, I pointed to the man rolling in pain and fear and ran for the closest thing I saw. Pulling out a dagger from the wall and tossed it at the man getting him square in the shoulder, two guards came running for me asking what's wrong. I quickly pointed at the floor and they sighed.
