'Mom wake up I'm already later '

'Okay I'm up ' she said yawning

'Here eat this and take your medication I'm really later I have to go Sam has left already bye ' I said hurried waving her goodbye

' love you and be safe' I left the house I'm so dead John is so having my head.

I work in a diner just few blocks away from home about a 30min walk and I'm later I'm 15 minute later to be precise

'Geez Anya you so later get dressed there is your first customer you lucky John is not in today' Mercy my friend told me

I released a breath I didn't know I was holding that's better I guess today's my day and I get on with my day

'Anya Selena wants to see you'said Alex my coworker

'What have I done now '

'She looks ready to throw a fit tantrum ' Alex said laughing

'Yeah right about you later tendency 'Mercy said mimicking Selenas voice' A your later tendency are unacceptable that is inappropriate and unprofessional of you this is your warning ' we laughed

'Next time you're fired' I finish off again we laugh

I went to her office and knock on the door lightly a soft come in was heard I entered and close the door behind me

'You ask for me' I asked a not so pissed Selena

'Yes I did please sit ' she gesture to the chair in front of her desk and I did as told

' I called you here to give you this 'she said handing me a pay check ' I thought about what we talked about so you'll be working double shifts and you won't be having days off for a month is that okay  you need to cover for that money '

I looked at the check yeah it was enough for house bills and some house stuff but not all of it and Sam God

'Mmh yeah thank you Selena and yes I totally understand '

' Another thing Anya you can't be later again or I'll be forced to fire you and you'll still have to pay that money ' she tail of ' I won't let it happen again I promise '

'I don't wanna hear your promises Anya I want you to deliver results yeah'

'Yes '

'You can leave you get your new schedule bye the end of today now get back to work'

I left her office' Hey you got that early check you asked you ' Mercy ask

'Yeah I did but it's still not enough Sam has this science project so I have to get him so stuff that means I won't be able to buy food ' I sigh the burden I carry it to Harvey for me

'Why can't your mom look for a job '

'Mercy please note now'

'Not now my ass that women act like it your fault your father left'

'That women is my mother Mercy so watch it...' I furrow my brows

'I just don't get it why you defend her so much Sam is her son not yours '

'Sam is my brother Mercy '

'Yes Anya your brother not your son and she is your mother not your daughter jesus An-'

'Mercy stop ' I told threateningly I'm so used to this conversation and it always end up with us fighting over my mom who isn't worth it really but she's still my mom

' I respect you for caring for your brother and all that stuff but that women sorry Anya but I hate her you might have forgiven her but I won't so does James

'She's sick Mercy '

' more unnecessary bills to pay'

' oak I'm gonna go now ' I said going to Alex

'I don't know if you are kind,caring,naive or you are plain stupid '

'Wow would I ever hear an end of it ' he shaked his head no

'Not until you kick her out your house'

'People change guys can you give her a chance'

'Never'they both said I don't even know why bother with them

'James increased the rent money again ' I told them feeling tears threaten to fall

Mercy sigh ' they is nothing we can do Anya he's determine to get rid of her you know he won't stop until you kick her out'

'I know but I'm the one suffering not her Mercy could you please talk to him '

'Guys I'm going you coming Mercy ' she nodded 'will see you tomorrow Anya just know that you don't have to do this no one will blame you if you kick her out '

'And what if she is found dead the next morning in the street I don't want that in my conscious guys she still is my mam'

'I'll pass buy your house to give Sam food okay dont worry about him' i thanked them they left I went back to work
