After they apparated back to the Goldstein apartment, everyone was sad about Jacob. Kai had eventually fallen asleep with Newt on the sofa. Tina gently placed a blanket over the two before tending to her sister.

The two British wizards had stayed with the sisters for another week after everything. Newt had a ticket for a boat heading to London while Kai had decided to stay in New York a little longer. They hadn't done much through the week, just spent time together.

The two friends were stood outside an canning factory waiting with a heavy case.

"Merlin's beard Newt." Kai curses at the man as she holds the heavy case. Suddenly a crowd of people exited the factory and once Newt had spotted Jacob, he quickly grabbed the case and walked through the crowd. Newt 'accidentally' bumped into Jacob, secretly switching the cases before quickly walking away like nothing happened.

Kai walked behind Newt as they walked through a crowd at the dock. Newt had to get his boat back to London, leaving Kai behind. He had rope tied around his case to stop his creatures from escaping and he also had his own Hufflepuff scarf around his neck. Kai sighs causing Newt to turn around and face her.

"This all feels a bit too familiar, don't you agree?" Newt says. Kai looks at him guiltily, remembering the time she said goodbye to him when he was expelled from Hogwarts.

"Far too familiar." Kai chuckles.

"Look I wanted to thank you." Newt says as Kai smiles.

"What on earth for?" Kai asks staring at the man in front of her.

"For helping and being by my side. I couldn't have done it without you." Newt says staring at her. Kai shakes her head.

"That's not true." Kai says before Newt places his hand on her cheek. He guides her head until their eyes meet and he smiles.

"Kai stop doubting yourself. You saved me and a lot of people. Your family would be so proud." Newt says as Kai's eyes turn glassy. She quickly wraps her arms around Newt as he wraps his arms tightly around the small woman.

"Quick question. What happened back at the station? That shield around me?" Newt asks as Kai steps back, looking up at the wizard.

"I'm not sure yet. Dumbledore has been helping me and he was the one who advised that i take a break from everything. He also recommended New York." Kai says as Newt looks at her shocked. Before he could say anything, a loud horn sound came from the boat.

"I've got to go." Newt says sadly.

"Go. I'll owl you when I'm back." Kai says smiling softly. Newt quickly pulled her into a hug before he started to walk away.

Kai stood there watching as Newt stopped and turned around. He walked back over to her with determination in his eyes.

"How about when you are back in London that we...uh, we go for dinner or coffee for like a date?" Newt stuttered quietly looking at the floor, as Kai smiles.

"Yes." Kai says as Newt looks up. "I would love to go on a date with you when I'm back in London, Newt." Kai says as Newt smiles. He quickly places a kiss on her forehead before running off to the boat. He did not look back at Kai, knowing that if he did, he wouldn't leave without her.

Kai smiled as she watched him disappear onto the boat.
