Genesis's POV:

My fork sank into the last piece of the waffle, coating itself in syrup before I maneuvered it into my mouth, ingesting the final amazing bite.

I stared down at the plate in disappointment. I had eaten all of the food. My first instinct was to find a sink and wash the plate, but I recalled that the boy told me not to leave his room. I placed the empty plate on his desk and returned to the mattress where I found the TV remote.

I decided to turn on the television. I sat down on the bed, remote in hand and flipped through the different choices of shows. As I continually scrolled, a program popped up that interested me. It was titled "The Office".

The show flickered on as my eyes melted into the screen. Throughout the program, I noticed the common use of awkwardness in the characters' interactions which created an aspect of humor.

After a couple of episodes, the screen went gray and displayed the same message "continue watching." Although I knew the solution, I decided that I grew bored of the show and I would find something else to do.

I stood up and eyeballed different elements of the room when my vision set on the bed. My eyes trailed up and down the blue comforter that laid across the mattress. A small smirk formed on my lips as I had an idea.

I jumped as I heard a light knock on the door before the doorknob turned.

"Don't worry it's just me," I heard the boy's soft voice. I untensed my muscles and resumed my normal relaxed stature. The door swung open and he stepped into the room.

"What...what is this?" He widened his eyes as his eyebrows raised, forming lines on his forehead.

"A blanket fort...." I said hesitantly.

He shook his head and chuckled.

"You should come sit in here with me," I smiled and patted the ground next to me.

The fort was rather simple. I connected the few blankets on his bed to different pieces of furniture in the room to make a set of tunnels. It was an annoying process because the blankets didn't seem to want to stay propped up, but I worked it out in the end.

The boy grinned and crouched under the entrance before sitting next to me, "Y'know my friends saw you in the window this morning so I had to come up with something already."

"What did you say?" I asked with my eyebrows creased.

"I said you were an exchange student that we were taking in," He shrugged.

"Yeah exchange student from Hell," I said sarcastically.

"They seemed to be convinced you were a hookup though," He mumbled.

"Oh....well anyways," I tried to change the conversation, "What about your mom?"

"I'm going to introduce you to her today actually, with the same story," He answered.

"Where am I supposedly from?" I questioned.

"Uh....Europe?" He said more like a question.

"I don't have an accent though," I said as a strand of hair fell on my nose. I crossed my eyes to look at it and lightly blew it off my face.
