Jade P.O.V

"You hungry" tyquan asked throwing a bag of chips at me. "How you gon ask if I'm hungry and just throw the chips at me" I said checking what type of chips they were. Mann just take the chips he said sitting on the bed. We really need to finish this work like today I said looking at him roll a blunt yah we is he replied. Can you smoke some other time I asked nah he replied shaking his head.

   
     "Whole athlete and doing drugs" I said shaking my head and taking out the work. Man shut the fuck up he said lighting the blunt you not Finna be talking to me like that tyquan I replied putting the work down "Or what" he said looking at me. "You know what I'm leaving" I said grabbing all my stuff. Leave then bitch I heard as I was leaving the front door.

    How does Vanessa put up with him he has no respect for no one and real mean. This school shit was never for me getting good grades to make it to college and then having to pay for college and being in possible debt not something I needed in life. I could probably drop out and find me a big baller a nigga with money like my bestfriend once told me. She had her life all together money and everything and have to get a job or depend on her parents for nun.

I really miss her sometimes and all the memories we had I wish what happened never happened and I wish I didn't have to move life was way simpler and fun but now I got responsibilities like my momma told me since she at work all the time I gotta take care of myself. My mom left my dad years ago because of the abusive relationship they had and ever since then it just been me and mom I have never seen my dad since.

      Aye shawty you need a ride some man in a car said to me driving slowly next to me. Um no I said continuing to walk come on it's to dark for a pretty girl like you I'm fine I said looking around at my surroundings while walking faster come on just hop in the car he said. Ignoring him I quickly walked up to a Dennys and went inside to get away from the man but he pulled up in the parking lot and followed me. At this point I was scared and didn't know what do I have never been a situation like this before. Jade I heard a deep voice say behind me I turned and saw Lamar sitting at one of the booths. Some man is following me I said sitting next to him in his booth.

      Relax I got you he replied putting his arm over me a moment after saying that the man who was looking for me came into the diner looking around for me to see if I was in here. He locked eyes with me then looking at Lamar before walking walking out and leaving. "Thank you" I said hugging Lamar"no problem but you can't be walkin home this late shawty it's not safe" he replied I know but tyquan was getting on my nerves so I left I replied back.

     "Let me get my food to go" he said yelling out to the waitress. Imma take you home ight but do you want sum to eat he asked no I'm fine I replied you sure he asked again yah I'm fine my mom cooking at home I lied. Here's your food the waitress said walking up to us and handing Lamar the food but I noticed while Lamar went to get the money out his wallet she looked and me and give me the dirtiest look and I just got to this town so I don't know her from no where. Here Lamar said handing her 30 dollars thank you she said smiling at him. Let's go he said to me while grabbing his food.

     Ion ever want you walking this late at night again if you need someone to bring you home call me ight he said while driving okay I said laying my head against the window. I'm thankful to met someone like Lamar in my old town I prolly would've been kidnapped or worse.I'm picking you up in the morning he said giving me a paper with his number on it. Thank you again Lamar I said before leaving the car no problem be safe he replied.

         Momma? I yelled out as I walked in the house and like always she wasn't home. I dropped my bags and went over to the note on the kitchen counter and she left me money for me pizza. I swear my momma always coming thru and a bitch finna eat good I said sticking my tongue out. I'm finna take a hot shower then watch myself some fresh prince of bel air cause that's my show.

       I stood in the shower letting the hot water run down my body letting it rinse the soap off my body as I thought of if Lamar liked me or not I kinda have feelings for him but I can't be too fast cause I didn't want to get into another broken relationship and my momma also once told me "take your time cause relationships that start fast ends fast" and that was something I didn't want right now. Maybe it was because he saved my life is why I'm thinking like this and ma- but just then my thoughts were cut off from knocks at the door. Shit I said to myself as I hurried and turned the shower off and grabbing and towel wrapping it around me and quickly making my way to the door with the pizza money.

    I opened the door and it was some lady kinda looked my momma age holding my pizza and wings I thought I had the wrong house for a sec but it's going to be 20 dollars darling she said smiling. Thank you I said grabbing the food and handing her the 20 dollars plus tip. How Embarrassing I said closing the door and bringing the food to my room. Thru on a over sized shirt and shorts and called a night.
