Chapter 38. Back

Annyeong guys!~ Sorry I haven't updated my story. I was so busy with school and other stuff. But, good news, school is finally over!!!~ And I'm back!! I hope you enjoy this update :) It's been here since the last time I edited SMDM :)

"Have you heard?" Suho intriguingly asked.
"Heard about what?" Kai asked, drinking his soda.
"Hyolyn will come back." Suho said.

Kris glared at Kai.

FLASHBACK

"She's coming back." Kris said.
"Who?" Kai asked.
"Hyolyn." Kris immediately said and hunged up the phone.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Ohh really?" Kai acted like he wasn't too affected.
"Uhuh." Suho nodded.

All of a sudden, Bora, Dasom, and Ji Eun walked and sat in EXO' s table. Ji Eun sat beside Kai.

"Oh, there you are." Kai said, holding Ji Eun's hand below the table, in her legs.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Nothing much, I just..." Kai got cut off.
"Yah Dasom, is Hyolyn coming back? When?" Chen asked.

Kai's eyes beamed.

"I don't know.. Maybe this March." Dasom answered while munching on her lunch.
"March?" Chen asked.
"What's the matter anyway?" Bora asked.
"Nothing.." Chen bit his fork.

Kai kept on holding Ji Eun's hands to distract him about Hyolyn. Abruptly, the lunch bell rang. They all have to go back to their classroom.

On the way to the classroom, Kai took the chance to ask Ji Eun something.

"Hey," Kai took a deep breath.
"What?" Ji Eun asked.
"What if.. Something changed?" He asked. "Then tore us apart?"
"Well, if it's meant to be," Ji Eun said as she looked at Kai while walking."it will be."
"Pft. You're gonna give up that easy?" Kai said.
"No, I won't. But if that happens, I'm gonna accept the fact." She smiled positively.

Hours passed but it all came down to dismissal. Kai got mad and nervous during dismissal about something. Something that's bothering him. Kris and Kai both went to the men's washroom to talk.

"She's gonna be back next week. Next week's March." He walked back and forth in the same direction.
"Don't stress! Chill. You're already married. You don't have to worry." Kris said.
"I'm not!" Kai defensively answered.

Suddenly, Suho popped out of nowhere.

"Are you sure? Looks like you are." Suho said.
"Yes, I'm not!" Kai insisted.
"Really?" Suho sarcastically asked and stared at Kai.
"No." Kai answered.
"Wae? (Why?)" Kris asked.
"I loved Hyolyn so much. And thanks to Ji Eun, I moved on. But hearing all these her coming back news, it drives me insane to the bones. Insane that I might lose my mind." Kai said.
"How? Why?" Suho asked.
"I don't want to leave Ji Eun because I love her." Kai straightly answered.
"Well then, we're good." Suho said.

Kris glared at Kai. Kris walked towards Kai.

"One last thing, just don't hurt her. I treat Ji Eun like my own sister. Just don't. Or else.." Kris muttered. "She's gonna be gone."
"I won't, don't worry hyung." Kai replied.
"Good. Now, can we go? I'm getting a bit hungry." Suho aegyoed.
"Fine." Kris blabbered.

Kris and Suho were the first to leave. Kai was left alone in the men's washroom. He was staring at his reflection in the mirror. 

"Kai, just don't screw. Just don't. You are happy now with your wife." He told himself, then washed his face with water.
