Sweet sweet summer vacation.

I closed my eyes as I inhale the scent of the sea. How I love the sea. You see, this is what-

"Hey Charlie! Get your goddamn ass in here!" my brother, Colton, shouted from the beach house.

"Coming!" I shouted back. Damn, he's such a moment-ruiner. I took one last look at the breathtaking ocean in front of me before I ran back in the house.

"Too excited to drown yourself in the water?" He teased as he bring the other bags in the house.

"Too excited to get yourself killed by your sister? What a shame to know that an upcoming college student gets killed by his little sister." I retorted as I helped him with the bags.

"You can't even lift a marshmallow much less kill me." he smirked.

"That's because a marshmallow is stronger than you. So I guess I can kill you after all."

"Oh really? Enlighten me idiot." I was about to hit him with the bag that I was carrying when dad suddenly came in, carrying mom's baggage.

"Two of the ugliest members in the family, stop it will you? Instead of bickering why don't you just help me with your mom's bags?" Dad complained, sweating profusely. "God, what does she put in here? We're only staying for a month not a decade."

"I heard that." Mom glared at dad as she entered the house. Colton and I snickered as we helped dad with Mom's baggage.

When we were finished with the bags, Dad told us that he and mom are going out to meet their old friends. So, we all have the day for ourselves.

When they finally leave, I went straight to the beach and enjoyed the wonderful view. The sun was setting and the sky has a pinkish color, making the sea look more relaxing than it was before.

I looked behind me and smiled as I looked at our grandmother's beach house. There were other beach houses too. The ones on our left with the lighter shade of green is the house of our family friend Mr. & Mrs. Bradford. The ones on our right with the color white was Mr & Mrs. Wilson's. Their son, Henry, is my bestfriend. But I don't think they'll stay here for summer.

Granny's beach house was blue, has 3 stories and was beautiful. It was already a part of us and we love every bit of the house.

My family and I always go here every summer, it was like a tradition for us. My older brother, Collins, will be here by tomorrow. He will be on his 3rd year of college this upcoming semester while I will be a Senior this upcoming schoolyear. Awesome right?

"Stop smiling! This is not some chick-flick movie Charlie! No boys are finding you cute while you smile. No one's giving you 'the look' idiot!" Colton shouted as he laugh his lungs out.

I glared at him. "Asshole!" And then laughed.

I sat on the sand again and looked at the picturesque view of the ocean, taking it all in. It was so beautiful I couldn't bring myself to swim. The beach was so peaceful and serene, the water was crystal clear, and don't forget to add the setting sun. Damn, I'm in some kind of a chick-flick place.

As I took in the view, I grabbed my emergency snickers in my pockets and eat it. God this is such a perfect day. A good view and a date with snickers? Man, I love these moments.

As I was enjoying the moment, I heard a car engine shut. Maybe my parents have already arrived? It's still too early to call it a night.

I look back and I realize it was the biggest mistake of my life.

There, I saw a boy wearing a plain white shirt and faded jeans. I saw the boy who has blonde hair and blue oceanic eyes. The boy who has been my rival since forever. The boy who has been pestering me for years. The boy whom I hate with utmost passion. The boy who is named Kevin Bradford.

Remember the time when I told you our family has this tradition wherein we go to this beach house every summer? Unfortunately, the Bradfords have that tradition too. Actually, it was our families' tradition.

I know, I know.

Sucks to be me doesn't it?
