“Tony! I need Tony Corona now!” Brigette screamed as she ran through the doors of Karutakai.

Before she could reach the stairway, Brigette was stopped in her tracks; the girl from earlier stood in her way. She wore a smirk on her lips.

“Oh, Tony is not here right now. He’s on the prowl, hunting with his boys. You know, money doesn’t come easy. We have to either make it, or steal it. It’s the way of Karutakai,” the girl said.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Brigette growled.

“What’s wrong, sweetie? You’re looking for a new boy toy for the night?”

“Ugh! Move out of my way! I’m not wasting my time talking to you!”

Brigette squirmed past the girl and ran up the stairs. She was welcomed by a dimly lighted hallway. At the top of the stairwell, the door that was previously locked was opened. In fact, it was cracked slightly.

“Hello?” Brigette whispered as she opened the door.

No one was in the room. Apparently, the anonymous girl was right. Either way, Brigette was no longer safe. She could still feel Death’s firm grip on her neck…

“You’re not allowed up here!” the girl hissed.

Brigette nearly jumped out of her skin. She spun around only to be welcomed by the girl’s firm grip on Brigette’s shoulders. She was slammed into the nearest wall, with the girl’s elbows pressed against Brigette’s chest.

“L-let go of me!” Brigette managed to say.

“You’re forbidden up here. As far as I’m concerned, you are a trespasser on this property, and I can guarantee you that the others will agree!”

Brigette spit in the girl’s face in frustration. The girl jolted back to wipe her eyes.

“You’re such a bitch!” the girl screamed.

        “Don’t you dare touch me!”

“Oh, I’m so scared! What are you going to do, hurt me? You’re nothing more than a white trash whore! Men don’t just pick you up from the street to take you home and “help” you! Are you seriously that stupid?!”

Brigette’s jaw dropped. Within seconds, her fist was across the girl’s jaw. She immediately fell backwards onto the floor and hit her head. The impact made such a loud sound that even Brigette cringed.

“Good Lord…” Brigette gasped to herself.

Brigette squatted down to her knees to check the girl. There was no sight of blood, but the girl was clearly unconscious. A rush of guilt suddenly filled Brigette’s mind.

“I’m s-so s-sorry!” Brigette choked out. She suddenly burst out into tears. “I didn’t mean for this to happen…”

Brigette waited for a few minutes, but it felt like an eternity. The girl hadn’t woken up, and Brigette needed to run. She was in enough danger as it was. If she were to be caught in the girl’s presence, Brigette would surely be subjected to a horrible fate.

In a panic, Brigette pulled the girl onto the nearest couch. Once she was on it, Brigette ran towards the door and down the stairs without looking back. As she practically flew down the stairwell, she was greeted by a sudden slam on a door in the hallway.
