CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Autumn
Izuku went out to the veranda with the expectation to see Todo- Shouto there. Instead, no one was there. Izuku's shoulder fell, his eyes went to the tray he's holding. The tea he prepared for the both of them would only get cold.
Izuku's heat took seven days this time. It ended less than an hour ago. When Izuku went down from the high of his heat, his first thought was to check on the kids. All three of them were sleeping peacefully in their own rooms. Izuku checked the time, it's not even midnight so he figured Shouto would be on the veranda. It's not like Izuku thinks that the alpha would wait for his heat to end, it's just... last time, Shouto waited for him here.
So, Izuku can't help but feel sad.
He sadly walked and placed the tray on the table. He took his seat and looked up the stars above.
Izuku thought back to the time he had together with Shouto this past few months. It's not an imagination, Izuku is sure, they are closer now . And hell, Izuku cannot ever stop his heart from being happy when they are being like that.
That's why he was extra-disappointed tonight.
"Why are you pouting?"
Izuku blinked, staring back at the bicolored eyes that's staring at his emerald ones right now. Shouto is standing in front of Izuku, his head cocked to the side, his lips a wide smile.
Izuku didn't notice the alpha there.
"I should be the one pouting." And Shouto did as he said, he pouted. Izuku's sad demeanor suddenly becomes light. And before the omega knows it, he's smiling widely at the alpha. "You're late, Izuku. It's been a week." the alpha pouted more.
Izuku chuckled, standing up, "Sorry." he said, still smiling. He reached out to the alpha and despite acting coy, Shouto met his arms halfway, their hands connecting.
Izuku would be honest, he doesn't know how they came to this. One day, skinship is normal for them already- even scenting to the extent that Mei had asked Izuku if Shouto is courting him.
How Izuku wished the alpha did. But no. It's just somehow, they found themself attached, scenting each other, spending more time together.
And Izuku is not as strong as he once thought. He once thought that someday, his feelings for the alpha would vanish. But hell, it only grew deeper. And before Izuku knows it, he's in for no return.
"I will forgive you..." the alpha started, "...if you will dance with me?" Shouto had said, smiling, looking at Izuku.
Izuku creased his forehead, confused. "Now?" he asked and the alpha nodded. "Here?" another nod. "We don't have music, To- Shouto-kun." Izuku corrected himself.
It feels different, calling Todoroki-kun as Shouto. It feels more familiar- intimate. And it only made his heart hope for more.
Shouto chuckled, dragging Izuku closer to his body, almost embracing him. "Don't worry about it." he said, before squinting his eyes to the omega. "Also, you need to start getting used to calling me by my first name," he reminded, smiling.
Izuku smiled, "It just feels so new, sorry."
Shouto nodded in understanding, taking Izuku's arms to the alpha's neck, making Izuku almost hugging Shouto. "It's okay." the alpha stated, his hands on his phone, searching for something. "You can always call me 'honey'." Shouto said, grinning. Izuku's eyes widened, he almost let go, but Shouto was faster, he locked Izuku's arm on his nape, grinning more. "I'm only joking." he chuckled.
