Chapter Twenty One

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
Safe and Sound

Shouto focused on the villain in front of him that was trying to run away, shooting his ice to capture the villain. When he arrived on the scene, there were few more heroes around, helping with evacuation and some trying to capture and fight the villains.

There were few villain groups that were known for their big numbers, and this group is one of them. Their quirks aren't really destructive, but with so many of them, they were able to make so much destruction to the city.

Shouto walked slowly to the villain, his stance defensive. Shouto's eyes widened when he saw the grin plastered on the villain's face. Despite the ice covering everything but his head, this villain isn't a bit scared. If anything, he's happy. That thought gave Shouto shivers. Villains who aren't afraid of being captured always have something up their sleeves- and most of the time, it wasn't something good, good .

"Deku." Shouto started, his finger hovering on his earpiece, his face hard and focused on the villain. "Is there any police nearby that we can contact for lockup?" He heard his earpiece beep, before hearing the familiar 'Roger, contacting police.' of Deku.

Shouto's eyes widened and he snapped his head back to the villain when he heard them giggle. The grin on their face didn't falter, instead, it grew wider. "Is there something you're afraid of, hero Shoto?"

Shouto's eyes widened more, fear crept up on his skin. The villain's voice is as icy as Shouto's quirk, cold in his ears that brought shivers to his body. Their eyes showed certainty and amusement. Shouto felt his blood boil, the fear in his system still present.

"What are you most afraid of losing, Todoroki Shouto?"

Izuku.

Shouto felt his whole body tremble when his mind answered the villain's question immediately. He gulped, feeling himself parched. He clenched his fist, trying hard so that the villain wouldn't know he's being affected by his taunts. The villain smiled some more, as if telling Shouto he knows- he knows that Shouto is scared and he knows the answer to his questions.

The villain laughed, eyeing Shouto. Shouto wanted to punch him, put some bruises on his skin and wipe his smile away. But it is regulatory that captured villains shouldn't be harmed more. Shouto clicked his tongue, his anger growing more.

Shouto bit his lip. He needs to fucking send this villain away from him before he sees black. "Deku." He hovered his finger on his earpiece, trying to make it scan his finger print. But before the earpiece can scan it, it beeped, long and deafening. Shouto had to gulp down his curse as he held the earpiece tightly by his finger and ears.

In an urgent voice, Deku said, "Deku 1.0 sent a distress signal. Deku 1.0 sent a distress signal."

Shouto creased his forehead. "Deku one point zero?"

"What are you most afraid of losing, Todoroki Shouto?" Shouto heard the question again, only this time, it was his mind asking him.

"Deku 1.0 is approximately fifteen kilometers away. Gathering live feed from the Deku 1.0" his earpiece announced once more. Shouto had to close both of his hands to his ears because after a good ten seconds, he still can't hear a thing.
