SPECIAL CHAPTER
Petrichor

Midoriya Inko

"Grandma Inko! Grandma Inko!"

Inko turned and smiled at Eri. Eri is showing Inko the little device she made. It was a small chip that when pressed, it would take out the thing you store in it. It was more of a storage box that is the size of a chip. Of course, the support item that would be stored there shall be made with the same alloy that was used in the chip.

"This is brilliant, honey." she commented, watching Eri as she stores and restores Katsu's arm support item.

Inko smiled warmly, remembering Izuku when he was Eri's age. Izuku was a genius in terms of engineering. He reads and understands every book he tries to learn. It's only been almost three years since Izuku came to the Todorokis but Eri almost feels like his- as if Izuku was with Eri all her life.

Inko cannot dare to remember how she tried to take the Todorokis from her son. If she did, Izuku wouldn't be happy and Inko wouldn't be this at peace knowing that Izuku is happy.

"We're home." Inko heard, turning to the door. Inko and Eri were in the seating area. In the door, Katsu and Kouri were all smiles, walking up to where they were. But before they reached Grandma Inko and Eri, Izuku came into view.

"Welcome home!" he announced, excitedly. He purrs once then starts scenting the twins. Inko raised her right eyebrow, did she just see her son scent two kids while they are standing?!

Inko never taught him to be this- this impatient. "Izuku!" she called out, her voice reprimanding. Izuku turned to her, knowing full well what her tone meant. When Izuku turned, he was pouting.

The twins chuckled together. Katsu tried to sneak his way to Izuku's shoulders to peek at Inko. "It's fine, Grandma Inko!" he announced as Izuku giggled, nuzzling more into the twins. Kouri purrs so Katsu decides he'll be the one explaining. "Mom's been doing this for almost a week now. We got used to it." He snickered, enjoying his mom's scent.

Inko sniffed the air and frowned. There's something different with Izuku's scent. She stood up and broke up the three. Izuku almost whined, but shut his mouth. "I thought you're preparing snacks?" Inko decided to say, almost dragging Izuku into the kitchen. Only Izuku came willingly; she didn't need to do it.

Inko sighs as Izuku giggles once more and continues what he left at the kitchen when the twins arrived. "You're not in heat, are you, Izuku?" Inko asked her son, frowning.

Izuku blinked twice, "No," he immediately answered. "Of course not, Mom." he giggled again, happily, his eyes turning once to where the seating area is before continuing with the snacks.

"Why do you smell like- like-" Inko cannot name the smell. She smelled it somewhere before, and it almost smells like Izuku but not quite. Izuku always smells like cinnamon and grass and apples. Inko can certainly smell grass, but not the usual grass she smells from him.

"Like?" Izuku asked, like he's enjoying this. Inko frowned some more. She followed him as he took the snacks to the seating area. The kids were arguing now because apparently, Eri is messing with the twins' stuff again.

Inko watched as Izuku purrs, nuzzling to Eri. She knew how people loved smelling the little girl (she does, too), but this is new. It feels new.

Inko feels like she knows what it is, but cannot put her mind to it.

Todoroki Kouri

It happened on those rare occasions where Kouri got up earlier than Mom. Dad was out for a mission for almost two days now. Mom always, always got up before them three. He loved surprising them in their beds with power hugs and scenting so early in the morning.
