I still remember it like it was yesterday. Probably because it was. But that's not the point. I really need to get home to Adrienne and the boys and make sure they're okay.

Who would've guessed a fucking apocalypse happens when we're on tour across the country? Mike would probably say, "Calm down, Billie. It could've been worse." He's right but still.

And how is he looking on the bright side of all this? What bright side is there to look at? One, everyone is dead. Two, there's no one else alive. Three, we're alone in this country and possibly the world.

I'm being redundant. What I meant was, I'm alone. I still can't believe I left them like that, but maybe it was for the best. They're better off without some asswipe like me. I'm make everything wo-

Klonk!

There were weird alien sounds all around me. They must've been talking to each other. Wait, where am I? There's slimy things tied around my ankles, holding them down. Same with my wrists and one big one across my stomach. There's blinding lights, so I can't see much.

An alien warbled something toward me.

"What?" I asked. "You know I can't understand you, right?"

The silhouette stared at me for a minute, probably making an alien version of glaring face at me before making another noise.

It started talking. Like, actual English.

"Help," it said.

"What?"

"Help," it said again and pointed at itself. It's alien voice made it hard to understand.

"Help you?"

"Help you."

I looked around the room and frowned at the silhouette. "This is helping me?"

It pointed at me frantically and said "Help" again.

"What? I...I don't know what you mean."

It did the same thing as before.

I don't understand," I said, pointing at us. "Yeah, different species can't really...communicate."

The alien made a warble, probably saying something in its own language. It pointed to itself while warbling.

I just stared at it with confusion-no, can't show that. Instead, i stared at it with anger. Scowling helps everything.

It turned to the other aliens in the room, whom I'd forgotten were there, and said something to them. They left the room after that.

"So you're the boss-man? Boss-woman? Boss...thing?"

It turns back to me. "Help. Globorf."

"Globorf? Is that your name?"

It looks away and sits on a chair next to me, just out of the light.

"I can help you," I said.

"Help?"

"Yes. I can help you. But only if you help me. Deal?"

Globorf stares at me silently.

"Right," I said. "You can't understand me...Help?"

"Help Globorf." It steps into the light. What I saw could've killed me, had it been real.

It was Adrienne.

Sorry, I know this chapter is short, but the rest will be longer I promise <3
